Whoopi Goldberg, 69, Is the Newest Fashion It-Girl in Ami’s Fall/Winter ’24 Campaign: See the Elegant Photos!
Whoopi Goldberg is the latest fashion it-girl.
The actress, singer and producer, 69, serves as the face of Ami’s fall/winter 2024 campaign, showcasing a new side of the Oscar winner.
Photographed by Rahim Fortune in New York City, the stunning black-and-white campaign “depicts the essence of Whoopi herself: a contagious smile, charismatic stature and tender glance,” per a press release.
The star wears this season’s essentials, including a striped suit, herringbone coat, scarf collar shirt and a chic pair of black sunglasses.
Ami — the French word for “friend” — was founded in Paris in 2011 and continues to be inspired by Parisian fashion. The name of the brand is also a play on the initials of founder and creative director Alexandre Mattiussi.
“AMI has worked since its creation to define and complete the most articulate, comprehensive, pragmatic wardrobe for men and women,” the press release states. “Standing for a friendly approach to luxury, AMI captures a singular form of the French capital’s elegance, sophistication and simplicity.”
In addition to her long-running gig as a host on The View, Goldberg will be appearing as Miss Hanigan in Annie at NYC’s Madison Square Garden starting Dec. 11.
She’s also been working on the third installment of the Sister Act movie franchise. During a Wednesday, Nov. 6, appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the star shared that the recent death of Maggie Smith, who appeared in the original films as Mother Superior, has prompted some changes in production.
“We’re having to make some readjustments because we just lost Maggie Smith, as you know,” Goldberg said. “And so, we will get it done. We will get it done. It’s just, it’s a shift.”
In March, she shared that the team behind the film was “in the process of writing the script,” and responded “yes and no” when asked if she was handling the script herself.
“It’s hard to do everything,” the EGOT winner said. “And I like to think that I can, but I’ve come to the understanding that I can’t do as much stuff simultaneously as I’d like to.”
