Who Is Country Singer Gary Allan’s Wife? All About Molly Martin — and How Their Spontaneous Elopement Unfolded

Gary Allan and his wife, Molly Martin, are enjoying life together.

The pair waited a month before publicly announcing that they had secretly married in an intimate ceremony in February 2024. After 10 years of dating, followed by a two-year-long engagement, the couple made their union official through spontaneous nuptials.

“Molly and I had been trying to find the right time and right spot to get married, and we just decided the time was now,” Allan exclusively told PEOPLE. “We just didn’t want to keep waiting.”

Right now, they’re “happy to be husband and wife” — but that doesn’t mean “a bigger celebration” is entirely off the table in the near future.

This is Allan’s fourth marriage: He and ex-wife Tracy Taylor wed in 1987, and they share three children. Allan later tied the knot with Danette Day in 1998. He was married to Angela Herzberg from 2001 until her death by suicide in 2004.

So who is Gary Allan’s wife? Here’s everything to know about Molly Martin and her relationship with the country singer.

She first met Gary in 2012

The pair have navigated their decades-long relationship privately; Allan prioritizes work and music on his social media accounts, while Martin’s Instagram profile is private.

However, on the couple’s four-month wedding anniversary, Martin shared a small detail about their first meeting.

In a post shared to her public Instagram account, Martin revealed that she and Allan first crossed paths on July 5, 2012.

“4 months down. Forever to go. I couldn’t love this man more. 💕,” she wrote alongside a photo of them on their wedding day. “We met 12 years ago today. 💞.”

They live in Tennessee

Allan isn’t the first country music legend to own his Tennessee home: He spent the better part of five years fixing up the former estate of the late Conway Twitty, a home renovation project he stumbled into by happenstance.

“I’ve lived next to this house since 2003 and I was renovating my house and I asked if I could tear some trees down in between our property, and they said ‘Yeah, we’re moving to Florida, so we don’t care.’ I was like, ‘Wow! Are you going to sell it?’ And they said, ’Yeah,’ ” Allan recalled in a statement released by his record.

The deal was struck “within like three or four texts” without a realtor, he said. Although he “did a lot to the inside,” the artist shared that he kept certain sections of Conway’s original architecture.

“I left the patio just like it was, and his widow that came over gave me a tour book that was shot in there. He used to have fan club parties at his house, and he would go in the back and flip burgers for everybody,” Allan added in the statement. “The house has a really cool vibe.”

He and Martin officially moved into the home in 2021.

Six months into the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple packed their bags and relocated to the Dominican Republic, where they quarantined on a yacht with friends.

Allan often documented their fishing adventures, open-air food crawls and jam sessions on Instagram, including one photo of him, Martin and their “quarantine crew.”

Speaking with PEOPLE about his decision, Allan said he had no plans to return to their home in Nashville until a vaccine was made available. His decision caused scheduling concerns over the release of his album Ruthless.

However, the couple eventually returned to the United States in April 2021, and the musical project debuted two months later.

After nine years of dating, the “Best I Ever Had” crooner got down on one knee and popped the big question in December 2021.

The pair celebrated with champagne amid a sea of string lights in Nashville’s Cheekwood Estate & Gardens.

Allan announced the personal news on Instagram with several photos, including a shot of Allan putting the engagement ring on Martin’s finger. “She said yes !!!” he captioned the post.

Martin’s engagement ring is significant because it was designed by Allan himself. The one-of-a-kind piece features a pear-shaped diamond on a silver band with additional stones.

The couple quietly exchanged vows at the Sumner County mayor’s office in central northern Tennessee. The only people in attendance were the officiant and a photographer.

“We wanted something low-key that was representative of some of our favorite times together,” Allan exclusively told PEOPLE.

The groom wore a Roberto Cavalli suit, while the bride donned an ivory Yves Saint Laurent gown paired with vintage YSL earrings. Following the ceremony, they posed for photos at home, where close friends later joined them for a small celebration.

“We had a private ceremony close to home, then ended the day with dinner and drinks with a few close friends,” Allan continued. “It could not have been a more perfect day!”
