Vince Vaughn’s Hilarious Trump Encounter – A Comedic Twist on ‘White House Crashers’ Gets VIP Treatment on Official POTUS Account

  • Vince Vaughn visited Donald Trump at the White House in Washington, D.C., on April 18.
  • The official POTUS and White House Instagram accounts marked the occasion with a post parodying Vaughn’s 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers.
  • The actor and the president have socialized together in the past.

Vince Vaughn’s recent visit to Washington, D.C., to meet with President Donald Trump was documented by the White House through a humorous homage to one of his best-known films.

On Friday, April 18, both the official POTUS and White House Instagram accounts shared a joint post featuring a picture of the outspoken Libertarian actor, 55, and the president, 78, in the Oval Office. The image was creatively altered into a mock movie poster modeled after Wedding Crashers.

The poster is titled “White House Crashers,” utilizing a font reminiscent of the one used for the 2005 comedy, with Trump replacing Vaughn’s co-star, Owen Wilson.

“President Donald J. Trump & Vince Vaughn in the Oval Office 🇺🇸,” read the caption of the post from the White House.

The plot of Wedding Crashers centers on Wilson and Vaughn portraying divorce mediators who use weekends to crash weddings in search of romantic interests. The film also features Isla Fisher, Rachel McAdams, Christopher Walken, and Bradley Cooper.

Apart from the parody post, there was no additional information released by the White House or President Trump regarding Vaughn’s visit, nor did the actor provide further comments.

Vaughn’s representatives did not respond to requests for clarification on April 19.

Vaughn and Trump have been seen together at public events previously. However, the White House did not formally list Vaughn’s visit in the president’s public schedule, according to reports.

The two were first observed together at a college football national championship game in January 2020 during Trump’s first term.

They exchanged greetings during the event, and a representative for Vaughn later explained that they did not attend the game together but rather “met briefly.”

Following their notable interaction that resulted in some backlash, Vaughn sought to clarify the situation in an interview, stating that he remains “cordial” with all politicians he encounters, irrespective of their party affiliations.

“In my career, I’ve met many politicians and have always treated them with respect; I’ve encountered Nancy Pelosi and was equally cordial,” Vaughn remarked. “That was the first time I met him. We exchanged pleasantries, and I found him to be quite personable. We didn’t delve into policy discussions.”

“People today are more passionate than ever about these issues,” he added. “However, I believe that most individuals do not take these matters as seriously as the vocal minority. I was brought up to appreciate differing opinions and beliefs and to defend others’ rights to express them, not to silence them. Those we disagree with deserve to have their viewpoints supported and respected.”

More recently, in August 2024, Vaughn spoke about his political views in an interview, affirming his belief in the importance of individual choice. “Yes, I definitely identify with libertarian principles. I believe that people should have the freedom to make their own choices, including the legalization of drugs and individual gun rights,” he stated.
