Teddi Mellencamp’s Shocking Hospital Experience: Overwhelmed by 85 Episodes of Vomiting in a Single Day Amidst Brain Tumor Battle

Teddi Mellencamp is sharing details about her brain tumor diagnosis and the recovery following her recent brain operation.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills graduate, 43, returned to her podcast Two Ts In a Pod on Thursday, March 13, discussing her release from the hospital two weeks post her February 12 procedure — and the severe side effects encountered during her recovery.
Mellencamp clarified to her audience and her co-host Tamra Judge that to be discharged, she had to urinate, but due to being on a sodium drip and consuming “nasty sodium pills,” her body wouldn’t cooperate. “I couldn’t pee, guys. I do not know why I could not pee.”
Her encounter with the sodium pills was so challenging that it also affected her stomach. “One day, I remember vomiting about 85 times because of those silly salt pills,” she reminisced.
After departing the ICU, she relocated to a hotel with a full-time nurse. Even though “things were significantly improved,” she admitted to Judge that she “became really, really upset.”
“ I believe it was at that point — when your memories are resurfacing and you’re feeling a bit better — that you truly confront what is happening,” Judge stated about their first phone conversation since her hospital stay. “That was the moment I had been fearing because you then understood your condition.”
“Once I comprehended, then I truly felt sad,” Mellencamp mentioned.
Mellencamp, who over the last two years has had 17 separate melanoma spots excised, initially visited the hospital on Monday, February 11, due to “intolerable” pain. She conveyed on her Instagram Stories Tuesday, February 12, that she had been “dealing with severe and debilitating headaches” for several weeks. Following a CT scan and MRI, doctors discovered multiple tumors in her brain, believed to have “been developing for a minimum of 6 months.”
The following day, she had a craniotomy with tumor removal, during which four tumors were excised from her brain. The remaining tumors will be managed with immunotherapy and radiation.
Subsequently, on Thursday, March 6, Mellencamp offered another health update on her Instagram profile, indicating that doctors identified three additional tumors in her brain and one tumor in each lung.
In Thursday’s podcast episode, Mellencamp disclosed that she experienced “some of [her] darkest, saddest days” since the operation.
Once in the hospital and after receiving her diagnosis, she texted Judge. The Real Housewives of Orange County star emotionally recounted on the podcast the content of Mellencamp’s message: “ ‘You all thought I was crazy, but in reality, I’m on my deathbed.’ ”
“I recall feeling like this was genuinely the end,” Mellecamp remarked regarding sending that message.
Despite Mellencamp’s initial apprehensions and her looming health challenges, she stated she’s “feeling really optimistic” about the treatment journey. She is scheduled to commence radiation on Monday, March 17, and will also participate in immunotherapy once every three weeks.
