Sami Sheen Opens Up About 5-Month Estrangement from Charlie Sheen: ‘He Really Is Missing Out’

Sami Sheen is shedding light on her relationship with father Charlie Sheen.

The 59-year-old actor reunited with former spouse Denise Richards and their daughter Lola Sheen during his debut appearance on the April 1 episode of Denise Richards & Her Wild Things. Sami chose not to attend the family gathering after Richards disclosed she’d turned down the invitation.

“I’d rather do almost anything than share a meal with my dad,” the 21-year-old stated during filming.

Richards described their family ties with Charlie as inconsistent, noting “fluctuating dynamics.”

“Their father-daughter journey has been challenging,” she commented.

During the meetup, 19-year-old Lola humorously suggested Sami inherited Charlie’s “sharp wit,” prompting his laughter.

“Let’s hope so,” he responded. “How’s she doing?”

“Not sure,” Lola answered, referencing her recent reconciliation with Sami after a prolonged estrangement. “She recently tried spray tanning.”

Sami later elaborated on their strained connection in a solo interview.

“We’ve barely communicated these past five months,” she revealed without specifying reasons. “Our interactions occur sporadically. The first 13 years were rough, followed by brief improvement, and now it’s just… complicated.”

“Sami’s perspective is understandable,” Richards interjected. “His relationships with all his children have been turbulent. I hope he realizes what he’s losing.”

“He’s truly missing valuable moments,” Sami affirmed.

Contrastingly, Lola described her bond with Charlie as “incredibly strong” and “a gift.”

“Our connection has strengthened significantly,” she shared. “We’ve developed a ritual of biweekly pedicure sessions we both adore.”

Richards reflected on her evolving rapport with her ex-husband since their 2002-2006 marriage.

“Things deteriorated rapidly after my pregnancy with Lola,” she recalled. “After a particularly difficult night, I packed our belongings, relocated to Beverly Hills Hotel, and filed divorce papers between school drop-offs and a work commitment.”

Subsequent years involved public legal battles over custody and finances amid Charlie’s substance abuse struggles.

“Despite our conflicts, you knew I always prioritized our children’s wellbeing,” Richards told Charlie.

“That means everything,” he responded. “It’s why we can share moments like this now.”
