Samantha Cope Celebrates Joey Lawrence’s 49th Birthday with Heartfelt Tribute: A Week of Love for Her ‘Cutie’
Joey Lawrence is feeling the birthday love!
The actor celebrated his 49th birthday on Sunday, April 20, and his wife, Samantha Cope, commemorated the occasion by posting a heartfelt photo of the couple on her Instagram Stories.
The picture captures them posing together at a table, with Cope resting her head on her husband’s shoulder as they enjoyed drinks.
Cope, 37, wrote over the photo: “Celebrating my cutie all week,” alongside cake and heart emojis.
Lawrence and Cope married on May 1, 2022, at the Temecula Creek Inn in Temecula, California, after meeting on the set of Lifetime’s My Husband’s Secret Brother in 2021.
Shortly thereafter, they announced they were expecting their first child—Lawrence’s third—in September of that year, welcoming their daughter Dylan in January 2023. Lawrence is also the father of daughters Charleston and Liberty from his previous marriage to Chandie Yawn-Nelson.
In August 2024, Cope filed for divorce. A source later revealed that the couple split following allegations of an affair between Lawrence and his Socked in for Christmas costar Melina Alves. During that time, Alves issued a statement on her Instagram, denying any “sexual relationship” with Lawrence while filming their Christmas movie.
Months later, on December 1, Cope signed a motion to dismiss her divorce petition, just days after Lawrence shared on Instagram the news that the estranged couple had reconciled.
In the following months, Cope posted affectionate social media updates featuring Lawrence, including a video of them taking dance classes in January and a photo of the pair in Mexico in February.
