“Rumer Willis Opens Up About Sisters’ Bath Rituals and Still Sharing a Bed with Mom Demi Moore”

Rumer Willis is sharing insights into how her bond with her mother shapes her approach to raising her young child.

During a Tuesday, April 1, appearance on the What in the Winkler podcast hosted by Zoe Winkler Reinis, the 90210 alum revealed she practices co-sleeping with her toddler and occasionally shares a bed with her mother, Demi Moore.

The 36-year-old actress explained she’s slept alongside her daughter Louetta, who turns 2 on April 18, since birth. Louetta is her child with ex-partner Derek Richard Thomas.

“Truthfully, I hope Louetta will still want to share my bed when she’s an adult,” Rumer continued. “I still snuggle with my mom sometimes, and I don’t see anything strange about it.”

As the oldest child of Moore, 62, and Bruce Willis, Rumer has two younger sisters: Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 31.

She added that sibling baths remain a family tradition: “Growing up, we always bathed together. Some might call it unusual, but to us, it’s just normal.”

The actress further defended her parenting philosophy using animal behavior analogies.

“Imagine separating a newborn animal from its mother overnight — people would criticize you instantly. Yet humans expect infants to soothe themselves independently before they can even eat alone,” Rumer argued. “Adults struggle with self-soothing too — we call friends, reach for wine, or binge-eat instead.”

Reinis, mother to three sons, related to Rumer’s perspective. She disclosed her 7-year-old still sleeps with her and husband Rob Reinis, though her other children prefer independence.

“Every child has unique needs,” Reinis noted. “One son loves family bedtime, another values his space. The youngest craves closeness now, but this phase won’t last forever.”

Rumer acknowledged facing scrutiny regardless of her parenting choices.

“Given my family’s public profile, people will always critique how I raise Louetta — it’s inevitable,” she stated.
