Feek wed his longtime love, Rebecca, who he met when she started working at the schoolhouse on his Tennessee property as a teacher to his and Joey’s daughter, Indy, and a dozen other kids.

He revealed the fact that he had found love again in a blog post in February, writing, “And little by little, the more time Indy and I have spent with Rebecca, the more she has come to mean to us. Though it has arrived differently than I might have imagined, if I could have even imagined it at all, love has come into my life again.”

Rory Feek wedding video: Joey Feek died on March 4, 2016, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer that drew worldwide attention. She was 40 years old.

In a new post announcing his wedding, Feek reveals that while he and Rebecca eventually began to talk about marriage, they we worried about how Indy — who has Down syndrome, and turned 10 earlier in 2024 — would take the news, since she has such an attachment to her late mother and saw “Miss Rebecca” only as her teacher.

Or so they thought. That changed one day when Indy told Rebecca, “Ms. Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa,” according to Feek.

“And then Indy looked at me and said ‘and I told Miss Rebecca that my Mama’s been gone a long time. And if she marries you, maybe she could be my new mother,'” he writes.

Rory Feek wedding video: Once the couple set a date, Feek started working on a surprise for his new bride: a song that he wanted to write and sing at their wedding. But Feek is, as he admits, “not the greatest secret keeper, especially when it’s something I’m really excited about.” So he ended up previewing the song for some of the audiences at a series of concerts at his farm, swearing the fans to secrecy each time.

Feek and Rebecca wed on Sunday (July 14) in Greycliff, Mont., and Feek did get to surprise her with the new song, “I Do,” at the ceremony.

“And although surprising Rebecca by singing a song I wrote for her at the wedding was a wonderful, I think by-far my and her favorite moment of the wedding was this one,” he writes, sharing a picture of himself, Rebecca and Indy together during the ceremony.
