Reese Witherspoon’s Boot-Friendly Jeans Are Like Styles We’ve Spotted on Nicole Kidman and Joanna Gaines

Pumpkin picking and leaf peeping are nice, but Reese Witherspoon just reminded us that wearing the perfect pair of jeans might be the best part of fall.

When the founder of Hello Sunshine stepped on stage at the media company’s 2024 Shine Away event in Los Angeles, she wore a pair of high-waisted dark blue jeans in a bootcut style that left just a hint of her black heels showing. The slight flaring at the bottom lets you wear them over chunky sneakers and boots, which has made them a fall wardrobe staple. In fact, she wore another pair with black Chelsea boots in a recent Instagram photo that showed her sitting on the floor and eating pizza.

They also let you keep wearing your favorite low-tops — as Nicole Kidman recently showed — without leaving any ankle exposed to the chilly air.

Levi’s 725 High-Rise Bootcut Jeans

These classic Levi’s high-rise bootcut jeans look virtually identical to the ones Witherspoon wore, down to the dark blue wash. Style them with a black belt, tucked-in white button-up shirt, and a cardigan for a look that’s similar to the Oscar winner’s (and one that would be great at Thanksgiving). Gap High-Rise ’70s Flare Jeans

For a silhouette that’s a bit more of a statement, these retro-style high-rise jeans from Gap will have you feeling like Lainey Wilson. They come in an array of sizes across regular, tall, and petite options, with a flattering fit at the waist that flares out dramatically below the knee. The slightly stretchy denim and pocket positioning have earned rave reviews, with one shopper calling them “cute, stylish, and snug in all the right places.”

Heads up: Gap has them in a lighter blue wash that’s similar to the bootcut jeans we saw Joanna Gaines wearing recently for just $35 right now.

Spanx EveryWear Flare Jeans

These bootcut jeans from the celeb-worn brand combine the tummy-shaping compression and smooth feel of Spanx leggings with denim. They look just like a regular pair of flared jeans but are far less bulky at the waist because they don’t have a zipper, buttons, or hip pockets (the back pockets are functional, though). They come in sizes XS–3XL, and the limited-edition Authentic Blue wash looks most like the pair worn by The Morning Show star.
