Rachel Lindsay rejects claims implying her professional achievements caused the collapse of her union with Bryan Abasolo.

The television personality finalized her separation from Abasolo, 44, last January, roughly a year after his initial filing. As part of the agreement, Lindsay must transfer $500,000 in equalization funds and compensate him $460,229 through alimony, with half required within 10 days of court approval. The remaining balance is due by January 7, 2026.

Following the settlement, Lindsay criticized her ex’s public statements about their split on Higher Learning but largely avoided further commentary until now.

During the latest April 4 podcast episode, she dissected frustrations regarding the financial allocations mandated by their divorce terms.

“I need to address this recurring idea that career sacrifices entitle someone to compensation,” she asserted. “Let me clarify permanently – that’s completely inaccurate.”

She elaborated, “The fundamental issue isn’t financial recognition for sacrifices. Both of us made compromises. Punishing me for achieving professional success during our marriage while he didn’t is unjust.”

Lindsay condemned perceived exploitation of alimony systems, stating: “Capable professionals holding multiple licenses – whether practicing independently, joining firms, leveraging influencer status, or capitalizing on existing platforms – shouldn’t qualify for spousal support.”

“This doesn’t imply opposition to reasonable compensation. Documentation shows my willingness to negotiate. What I oppose is systemic manipulation,” she continued.

The media personality explained predatory financial demands: “Mockery followed when I used ‘leech,’ but initial support requests included raiding retirement accounts, stock portfolios, investments, tax returns – essentially every asset. Proposals insisted on half of everything plus ongoing payments, refusing middle ground.”

Lindsay countered narratives about relocation sacrifices: “Contrary to claims, Abasolo didn’t move thrice for me. Our Dallas relocation stemmed from his voluntary career exit post-Bachelorette, while I remained employed.”

Regarding subsequent moves, she noted: “Miami involved abandoning my Dallas legal career without guaranteed employment. Later, our Los Angeles transition was collaborative. Social media followers recognize his Hollywood ambitions.”
