The entertainment world mourns as Lila Mae Star, grandmother of late model Kim Porter, has passed away.

Quincy Brown, Porter’s eldest child and Star’s adored great-grandchild, revealed the sad update via social media on Wednesday. The family matriarch was 93. Accompanied by nostalgic photos, Brown emotionally wrote: “My soul aches. 💔 Forever in my heart, Grandma Star ⭐️”

An official family statement circulated online emphasized: “With profound grief, we share the transition of our treasured Lila Mae Star. She ascended gently, gifting us timeless memories and a heritage of compassion. Her radiant soul and enduring grace will eternally illuminate our lives.”

The announcement further requested privacy, noting: “We gratefully acknowledge your condolences during this period of loss. Memorial arrangements will follow.”

Brown previously honored his great-grandmother during her milestone 90th birthday festivities in 2021, as reported by Atlanta Black Star. Attendees included Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs along with Porter’s other children: Christian Combs, twins Jessie James and D’Lila Star Combs, and Chance Combs.

Reflecting on the celebration, Brown penned: “Witnessing pure joy radiating from my incredible Great Grandmother touched depths I never knew existed… A living testament to divine blessings through nine decades. My eternal guardian angel 💜❤️💜”

Star’s passing rekindles memories of her granddaughter Porter, who tragically succumbed to lobar pneumonia complications in 2018 at age 47. Initial reports indicated the former model experienced severe flu-like symptoms prior to being discovered unresponsive.

During a 2023 interview, Brown opened up about preserving his mother’s heritage: “Carrying my mom’s essence means endless possibilities – our shared story remains unwritten. Her influential spirit transcends mortality,” he revealed to PEOPLE.

Porter’s complex relationship with music mogul Diddy spanned nearly two decades before their 2007 separation. Alongside biological children Christian and twin daughters D’Lila Star and Jessie James, Diddy helped raise Quincy – Porter’s son from her previous relationship with Al B. Sure!.

Diddy currently faces incarceration while awaiting trial on multiple federal charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. Arrested in September 2024, three consecutive bail requests have been declined by court authorities.

Legal proceedings are scheduled to commence next month.
