Pete Davidson Steps Out for Sweet Date Night with His Mom at Brooklyn Nets Game After ‘False’ Rehab Rumors

Pete Davidson is stepping out in the Big Apple.

The Saturday Night Live alum, 31, made his first public appearance since rumors surfaced that he returned to rehab following a relationship with Bachelor alum Maria Georgas. He attended a Brooklyn Nets game on Tuesday, Nov. 19, where he witnessed the New York-based team narrowly beat the Charlotte Hornets.

Joined by his mother Amy Waters Davidson, the comedian was all smiles as he wrapped his arm around his mom and posed for a photo.

Shortly after the speculation started, Georgas, 30, cleared the air about their relationship status, writing on her Instagram Stories, “Never dated Pete. False rumor. I’m friends with his sister. Case closed.”

In a second post, the reality star also clarified that Davidson is “not in rehab and has been sober for months.”

“Can’t believe this s— it’s very insulting to his recovery and my mental health,” she wrote. “He’s literally home.”

Earlier this month, Davidson stopped by Saturday Night Live for a surprise cameo.

Davidson and cast member Andrew Dismukes joined host John Mulaney in a sketch about New York City’s Port Authority bus station’s Duane Reade. During the bit, Davidson’s bare arms were on display as he continues removing many of his tattoos.

The appearances come four months after PEOPLE confirmed Davidson and Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline had gone their separate ways in July after 10 months together. The following month, the actor checked into a wellness facility.

Davidson sought out mental health treatment in late July as he continued focusing on his sobriety, a source told PEOPLE at the time. The insider said his friends and family were proud that the Bupkis alum has continued to take care of himself and that his mental health has “always been a priority.”

Following his stay over the summer, a source told PEOPLE the comedian was “back in the swing of things” and doing well.

“He looks better and healthier than he’s ever looked and he’s feeling happy,” the insider shared at the time.

Over the years, Davidson has been forthcoming about his mental health and has addressed his previous stints in rehab several times, most recently in September 2023 at a show with John Mulaney and Jon Stewart in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

He joked he had “that post-rehab glow” as he was “fresh out of rehab.”
