Macaulay Culkin Sports an Uncanny Resemblance to His NFL Lookalike Joe Burrow for Halloween Costume: ‘Game On’

Macaulay Culkin is heading to the gridiron in his Halloween costume.

On Thursday, Oct. 31, Culkin, 44, shared two photos of himself dressed as Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow to Instagram, calling out an apparent visual resemblance between the Home Alone Star and the fifth-year NFL player.

“Game on @joeyb_9,” Culkin wrote in a caption to his post, tagging Burrow, 27, along the way. The quarterback responded to Culkin’s post in a comment, writing, “Touché sir touché.” The official Bengals Instagram account also commented on the post, writing their signature chant, “WHO DEY!!!”

“Ball’s in your court, Joey B,” Culkin wrote in his own comment to the post; many commenters called for Burrow to respond with a costume echoing Culkin’s famous Home Alone character, Kevin McCallister.

The costume — and Halloween at large — proved a topic of interest as Bengals players spoke with reporters on Oct. 31, with Burrow’s teammate Ja’Marr Chase stating that Culkin “was definitely there” in mimicking Burrow’s hair, per a video of his conversation with reporters shared on X.

“He pulled it off. But, I mean, he’s just missing the shoulder pads and the pants and the cleats, but it’s there,” Chase, a 24-year-old wide receiver, said. When a reporter asked him whether he thinks Burrow and Culkin look similar, Chase laughed and said, “No, not at all.”

Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals walks off the field following the Bengals loss to the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on November 16, 2023 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Burrow himself expressed a relative disinterest in Halloween during his own press conference, as seen in another video shared to social media.

“No,” he said in response to a reporter who asked if Burrow is “a big Halloween guy.”

“I’m not into celebrating something just to celebrate. I don’t know exactly what we’re celebrating there. Just like, dress up to dress up? I don’t know. I’m not a big dress-up guy,” he said. “I’ve always been anti dress code…if somebody tells me I’ve gotta wear something, I don’t want to wear that. That’s just always how I’ve been. I don’t know. I guess I’m a contrarian sometimes.”

“Yeah, that’s pretty cool,” he added when a reporter noted kids who are Bengals fans may dress up as him for Halloween.
