Lucas Bravo Praises Ticket to Paradise Costars George Clooney and Julia Roberts: ‘I Fell in Love’ (Exclusive)

George Clooney and Julia Roberts are dream costars, according to Ticket to Paradise scene stealer Lucas Bravo.

“Honestly, I fell in love with these people,” the French actor, 36, says during a PEOPLE in 10 interview with Senior Movies News Editor Nigel Smith in New York City.

“I don’t know what I did to deserve such guidance and protection from them,” Bravo adds of Clooney, 63, and Roberts, 56, who led the 2022 romantic comedy hit. “But they really took me under their wings.”

Ticket to Paradise, from director and co-writer Ol Parker, reunited Ocean’s Eleven and Money Monster costars and friends Clooney and Roberts, this time as a divorced couple facing a possible rekindling of their relationship while navigating the Bali wedding of their daughter (played by Kaitlyn Dever). Bravo played Paul, the lovesick boyfriend of Roberts’ character.

With Bravo now leading his own movie — playing real-life “gentleman robber” Bruno Sulaki in Freedom (premiering on Prime Video Nov. 1) — he looks to the example set by Clooney and Roberts. Their supportive behavior on the Ticket to Paradise set, he says, “allowed me to believe that you can still be kind and you don’t have to step on people to make it in this industry.”

The Emily in Paris star adds that Clooney in particular taught him lessons he’ll use on future projects. “George is just superhuman. He’s the kindest, most generous, playful, ‘no man left behind,’ beautiful soul I’ve ever met. And then to see that level of generosity and human connection on someone that is so established gave me so much stamina for the rest of my career.”

Clooney was so generous, in fact, he invited Bravo into his home — where a very special guest happened to be at the same time.

“He invited me to his summer house last summer and Brad Pitt was there,” recalls Bravo. He adds that it was his “first time meeting the Pitt. Sexy man.”

Lucas Bravo movies freedom

Freedom, directed and co-written by Mélanie Laurent, is based on the life of Sulaki, who in 1980s France became a jewelry store heist mastermind famous for his lack of violence when stealing. “I’m hungry for more challenging roles,” he tells PEOPLE, “and this is actually the first time I stepped out of set feeling proud of my work.”

Freedom will premiere on Prime Video Nov. 1. Season 4 of Emily in Paris is now streaming on Netflix, which has renewed the series for a fifth outing.
