Loki’s Jack Veal Claims He Was ‘Abused at Home’ and Is Now ‘Homeless at 17’ amid Mental Health Struggles
[EDITOR’S NOTE: This story has been updated on Dec. 6 with Veal’s latest post about his housing status.]
Veal confirmed on Dec. 4 that he was placed in home by social services.
“I finally got my placement, and it’s amazing,” Veal, appearing emotional, shared on TikTok.
“I don’t like crying on camera, it’s weird…but yeah, all of you guys, if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have gotten anything,” he added.
He noted that the decision for an “emergency placement” came after he conducted an interview with a journalist, whom he did not name.
“And that was all because of you,” he said. “It’s been wild. It’s been so wild. But thank you, thank you very much. Sending you all my love. God bless you all.”

Loki’s Jack Veal is opening up about experiencing homelessness amid his struggles with mental health.
The 17-year-old actor — who played Kid Loki in Disney+’s Loki — shared on TikTok that he is currently living in a trailer in London after allegedly escaping an abusive situation at home.
“Hi. I’m a famous actor, I’m 17, and I’m homeless…” he claimed. “I haven’t mentioned much about what’s been going on in my life, but I think it’s time to reveal the truth. Without delving too much into the details, I was abused at home. It was physical violence, emotional abuse and etcetera.”
He alleged that he didn’t have “a very good upbringing” in England, adding, “I’ve struggled with mental health. I have autism, ADHD, and am being screened for bipolar and psychosis.”
Veal’s father did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment.
After noting that staying at his grandparents’ home was not an option due to his grandfather being “terminally unwell,” he shared, “I have nowhere else to go. And I need help.”
Veal alleged that social services “refuses” to provide him aid and consequently, he is experiencing homelessness.
“I am desperate. I am currently sleeping in a trailer that has smashed-in windows, is unsafe, and is two hours away from my work, which means I struggle to get to work every day.” he said. “It’s difficult. Life is hard. At the moment, I have nothing else.”
He then implored viewers to “spread the message of how the government are treating kids,” before giving a glimpse of the inside of his trailer.
Veal concluded the video with a plea to followers, saying, “I need help. You don’t have to pay me anything, I don’t need anything. I just need you to make this go as viral as possible.”
Veal and a rep at Disney did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment.
In a follow-up video on Dec. 2, the actor — who has also appeared in The End of the F—ing World, Tin Star and The Peripheral — thanked fans for their support before noting, “The objective here is to get help from the people who are meant to provide it: social services.”
Veal later shared a third video which detailed his struggles amid the winter months.
“I’m homeless at 17 and I’m sleeping in a trailer tonight,” he explained. “It’s getting colder, things are getting more difficult, I’m putting pressure on social services, but there’s no promises of what’s going to happen.”
Finally, Veal provided a more promising update to his followers on Dec. 3. He shared, “I just got a call from social services saying they want a meeting with me tomorrow to potentially get me into foster care and support and accommodations.”
“I don’t know what you guys have done but it’s gotten out there and it’s really, really helped me and they’re taking action now,” Veal said as he held back tears. “They’re actually doing something so God bless you all.”
“I’ll let you know how the meeting goes and there’s no promises, but this is the first time they’ve considered me for accommodation so thank you, thank you so much. I love you all,” he added.
However, after the meeting, Veal shared on Dec. 4 that it “didn’t go well” on TikTok.
“I’m 17 and street homeless. I went to the meeting and they’ve told me I need to be street homeless again or return home, which I can’t do, until they find me a foster care placement, which might take a while,” Veal alleged. “They’re telling me days, which is probably gonna be weeks ’cause they lie, so I’m gonna have to be street homeless.”
He claimed that he had been “put under Section 20,” which is part of England’s Children Act 1989, legislative framework for child protection in England and Wales. He alleged that despite “the evidence” he has provided, they have yet to give him accommodations.
“So I don’t know what to do. Again, this is another call out for help. I had hope, but again, they’re not doing anything. They want to put me in foster care, but in the meantime, I have to stay on streets,” he explained.
PEOPLE reached out Councillor Michelline Safi-Ngongo, Executive Member for Children, Young People and Families in Islington, for comment.
However, in a statement to Daily Mail, she addressed the allegations, saying: “The safety and wellbeing of our residents is a top priority, and we’re determined to ensure that Islington’s young people grow up in a safe environment.”
“We are working hard to find both emergency support and a longer-term placement for Jack,” the statement continued. “We have not at any time told Jack that he needs to be street homeless. We are urgently trying to secure a place for Jack to stay tonight.”
Veal’s messages come more than a year after the season 2 finale of Loki premiered on Disney+.
In addition to acting, Veal is now working as a personal trainer. In an Instagram post on Nov. 21, he shared, “I’ve been away for a while now working on my career and my life. I’m now a level 3 qualified personal trainer and still perusing my acting endeavors when i can.”
