Why not treat your friends when they achieve something historic?

Just days after the successful Blue Origin all-female mission on Monday, April 14, Lauren Sánchez, one of the crew members aboard the New Shepard rocket, took to Instagram to reveal that her close friends Kris Jenner and Khloé and Kim Kardashian gifted her an “out of this world” Judith Leiber Couture bag to commemorate this milestone.

On Wednesday, April 16, the author and helicopter pilot, 55, showcased the UFO-shaped designer clutch on Instagram, which had an original retail price of $6,995 before it quickly sold out online. Along with its unique shape, the bag features an array of baguette and geometric crystals, contributing to its striking, otherworldly aesthetic.

Jenner shared the image on her Instagram Stories, adding, “We love you and are so proud of you!”

Jenner and Khloé were present at the West Texas launch site, where Sánchez, along with Gayle King, Katy Perry, rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn, embarked on their approximately 11-minute round-trip journey to the edge of space.

During a livestream of the event, Khloé expressed her emotions at witnessing this historical moment unfold.

Since the mission’s announcement, which marked the 11th human flight by Jeff Bezos’ space tech company, it has faced criticism from several celebrities, including Olivia Munn, Olivia Wilde, Emily Ratajkowski, and Amy Schumer.

“I get really fired up,” Sánchez commented in response to the criticism during a press conference after the New Shepard’s landing.

“I would love for them to come visit Blue Origin and meet the thousands of employees who not only work here but pour their heart and soul into this vehicle,” she stated. “They are passionate about their work and the mission, which is significant for them.”

“When we hear comments like that, I just say, ‘Trust me. Come with me. I’ll show you what this is about, and it’s really eye-opening,’” she added.

When asked how she has handled the backlash, King expressed her belief that “anybody that’s criticizing it doesn’t really understand what is happening here.”
