Kim and Khloé Kardashian Drop Subtle Jabs at Their Late Father’s Wife Ellen Pearson: A Family Dynamic Unraveled

It appears that the Kardashian sisters are not on the best terms with their late father’s wife.

In the season 6 finale of The Kardashians, Kim and Khloé Kardashian shared their experiences of frequently dreaming about their father, Robert Kardashian Sr., who passed away in 2003 after a brief battle with esophageal cancer.

During the episode, Kim mentioned a recent dream in which their dad was alive and living in Los Angeles “with Ellen,” referring to Robert’s wife, Ellen Pearson, whom he married shortly before his death. Khloé’s reaction was to simply say, “Ew,” hinting at her discomfort with the topic of their father’s wife.

The sisters briefly touched on the subject, with Khloé admitting that she often dreams of their dad being alive as well.

In a confessional, Kim, 44, prompted her sister to recall details of her dream from their RV trip, and when Khloé brought up Ellen, a producer mistakenly asked if she meant Ellen DeGeneres, prompting laughter from Kim.

“No, his wife,” Kim clarified. “That would’ve been the dream,” she added, implying unresolved tensions between the family and Robert’s wife at the time of his passing.

The family’s tumultuous relationship with Pearson is not new; she sued them in 2013 for defamation. According to reports, Pearson alleged that they had attempted to involve her in dubious dealings related to their reality series.

In the lawsuit, she accused Kris of being a “manipulative and devious mother and ex-wife who exploited her children,” highlighting the bitter history they share.

During this period, Khloé retaliated, asserting that their father was not mentally stable while battling cancer and that Pearson married Robert Sr. during a “compromised” state.

Pearson and Kris, who was married to Robert Sr. from 1978 to 1991, are not the only wives he had before his death at age 59; he was also briefly wed to Jan Ashley in 1998.

The dissolution of Robert’s marriage to Kris has been a source of conflict for her, something she reflected upon in a 2023 episode of The Kardashians.

Kris acknowledged that her “biggest regret” was her infidelity with soccer player-turned-animator Todd Waterman in 1989, as she discussed her past with Khloé.

“Being really young and dumb is something that plays into it because you don’t really understand the consequences of your actions,” Kris expressed regarding her mistake. When Khloé inquired about what led her to cheat, she responded, “I don’t know because he was such a great husband and such a great dad, and I think that I fell into a situation where I thought that the grass was greener somewhere else, and I made a huge mistake. That’s my life’s biggest regret.”
