Katie Holmes Ugly Shoes: Walk miles in these comfortable shoes!+ Photo
Katie Holmes Ugly Shoes: Given the fact that I’m living summer to its fullest, I’m also keen on trying all of summer 2024’s biggest trends, even those I never thought I would wear.
I hated Birkenstocks until I was 15. Now, I swear by them as my everyday, throw-on-and-go shoes that have saved my feet, especially when I’m struggling with blisters on my heels from shoes I shouldn’t have worn.

We’ve all been there. I also never thought I would even consider trying hiking sandals for anything other than, well, hikes, but a slew of celebs have made the “ugly” dad sandal feel decidedly more fashion than function, and I’m now on board—in fact, I have been for a while now.
Gigi Hadid was the latest to wear her hiking sandals off-trail—and she’s done so on multiple occasions—but it’s a Katie Holmes sighting that still lives rent free in my head.
Katie Holmes Ugly Shoes: The actress was photographed out in New York City last summer, in a flowy white skirt, oversized gray sweater, and white Teva x Chloé sandals that sold out swifty after that.
Katie Holmes Ugly Shoes: Her designer pair felt trendy but still had all the elements of the comfy hiking sandal: a treaded, supportive sole, adjustable nylon straps, and that all-around breathable design.
Hiking sandals are obviously meant to withstand rugged conditions. The treaded sole ensures you stay safely on your feet, even if you encounter rough terrain or have to climb a slope so steep, you really put your glutes to the test. The straps keep the sandals securely on your feet, while the designs are often moisture-wicking, too, in case you encounter a stream or deal with sweaty feet (both for me!).
Hiking sandals aren’t the first shoes to come to mind when I think of stylish walking shoes, but after testing various pairs for a while now, I’ve realized that some offer comfort that compares to sneakers.
Katie Holmes Ugly Shoes: The bouncy, moisture-wicking footbed is a total game-changer, and unlike sneakers, sports sandals like this are a breathable, airy option you can wear on the hottest of summer days without getting sweaty toes.
Of course, how you wear them also determines how they look. If you wear your hiking sandals with leggings and a sports bra, they’re going to have that hiking edge—and that’s totally fine. However, if you want to give them a fashion spin, pair them with unexpected options like Holmes’s white maxi skirt or a denim mini dress.
Trust me when I say that once you overcome the initial hesitation and try them on, you’ll fall head over (hiking sandals).
