Kat Stickler Defends Letting 4-Year-Old Daughter MK Meet Ex-Boyfriend Jason Tartick: ‘I Know My Child’
Kat Stickler is pushing back after some criticized her choice of letting 4-year-old daughter MK meet her ex-boyfriend Jason Tartick.
In a video posted to her TikTok, Stickler, 29, shared that she realized some of her followers seemed to have a problem with the fact that she introduced MK to Tartick while they were dating, and now the couple is no longer together.
“Did my former boyfriend spend time with my daughter? Yes. Has my daughter met my male friends? Yes. Has my daughter met the husbands of my girlfriends? Also yes,” Stickler says.
“Three things. She’s always with me when these males are introduced in her life and they are always introduced as Mommy’s friends,” she continues, adding that MK doesn’t call anyone Dad, as she has one of her own, and isn’t confused about who is or isn’t her father.
“And also, let’s be real, internet dating timeline is very different from real life dating timeline. I was in a relationship where we were heading down a serious route until we weren’t, and that’s okay,” Sticker says.
“I just hope that MK knows that I am looking to find the right partner for both of us because we are a package deal.”
Stickler says that although she doesn’t always make the right decisions, every choice she makes is made in the best interest of her daughter. She says that a big part of her dating is realizing that she can’t leave Florida, and when someone comes to visit her, she can’t just get rid of MK.
“Imagine if we all listened to the judgments that other people had about our lives and based our life decisions on those judgments,” Sticker says. “I never wanna live in fear of not doing what’s right for me because of what other people are going to think.”
The proud mom ended by saying that she understands the majority of her viewers just want the best for her and MK, and that she’s appreciative of the love and support she receives.
“Just be patient with me, because this is a lot. I know my child,” she shares. “I know that every single decision I make is with her best interest at the forefront of my mind and I can live with that.”
After around six months of dating, Stickler and Tartick decided to go their separate ways, revealing the news in posts on their Instagram Stories on Saturday, Oct. 12.
The Bachelorette alum Tartick, 35, posted a statement in which he confirmed the split, saying that he and Stickler separated “amicably” and that he is “rooting for her happiness” in the future.
