John Stamos’ Wife Caitlin McHugh Reveals Who Is the Tougher Parent to 6-Year-Old Son Billy (Exclusive)
Caitlin McHugh Stamos is revealing who is the tougher parent — her or her husband John Stamos.
At a screening of Stamos’ new movie Invisible Raptor, McHugh Stamos, 38, spoke with PEOPLE about parenting with her actor husband, sharing that when it comes to disciplining their 6-year-old son Billy, the Full House star, 61, tends to be a little more lenient.
“We balance out,” McHugh Stamos tells PEOPLE. “I would say that my husband is a little easier on him than I am. Me and more our nanny. We can be a little more tough on him, probably.”
In July, Stamos posted a cute video showing that he had been joined by his son Billy onstage as they played the drums together in concert with The Beach Boys on the band’s Endless Summer Gold 2024 Tour. The sweet moment came during the tour stop at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre in Michigan on July 5.
“Had a little help from my son BILLY on good vibrations last night,” Stamos wrote in the caption. “Wasn’t it nice! @thebeachboys.”
In the footage, Billy stood beside Stamos onstage wearing bright green headphones while banging on a drum beside his dad as the pair went into a drum solo together during The Beach Boys 1966 hit “Good Vibrations.”
This past April, the actor posted a sweet video on his Instagram as he visited San Francisco with his son Billy in celebration of his 6th birthday.
Stamos and his son could be seen visiting Alamo Square Park, chatting with a few visitors as they looked at the iconic Painted Ladies, which are featured in Full House‘s opening credits.
The star, who was wearing a mask, asked some parkgoers about the Full House house, later revealing to them that he was the actor from the iconic show. The video then cut to Stamos and his son, who ran on screen and tumbled with his dad in the grass.
“Happy Birthday Billy Boy. You are everything beautiful and meaningful in my life. Seeing you so full of wonder, so content, lights a warmth in me that gets rid of all the shadows and doubts of life,” Stamos wrote in his caption.
“You, in your innocence and joy, make every challenge worthwhile. God only knows where I’d be without you, my dear son. You and your sweet mother are my purpose, my joy, my everything.”
