Jessica Alba’s Baby2Baby Gala Prep Included Eye Patches, Electrolytes and an Elite Snack Setup (Exclusive)

Baby2Baby‘s annual fundraising gala always delivers an Oscar-level red carpet, with tons of A-list celebs getting decked out to raise money for the eponymous nonprofit, which provides resources for children living in poverty.

The 2024 event held on Nov. 9 in West Hollywood, Calif., was no exception, thanks to stars like Jennifer Garner, Heidi Klum, Naomi Osaka and the night’s honoree Charlize Theron supporting the organization.

And it’s no surprise that Baby2Baby board member Jessica Alba, who has been a glam fixture at the gala for 13 years, had yet another epic fashion moment in a strapless sequined gown and scarf from Zuhair Murad, which she paired with a Tyler Ellis clutch and Tiffany & Co. jewels.

Before she and husband Cash Warren hit the red carpet, Alba says she practiced some self-care. “I always make sure to carve out some ‘me time’ before getting ready for any event,” she tells PEOPLE. “Whether it’s a meditation, a bath or a quick massage, I like that alone time to center myself and recharge. It helps me feel grounded and ready for what’s ahead.”

Her other pre-party must-have: “I try to finish a large Mountain Valley Spring water with a scoop of Ultima replenisher for extra electrolytes to keep me going all night.”

Here, she takes PEOPLE behind the scenes as she got ready for what she says is the couple’s “favorite date night celebrating a cause so close to our hearts.”

“They’re my favorite quick pick-me-up to help brighten and freshen my tired eyes,” Alba says of Comfort Zone Sublime Skin Eye Patches. “They are the perfect pre-makeup essential, they are so soothing and always make my skin feel smoother and ready for makeup.”

She’s also a big fan of the Shani Darden Facial Sculpting Wand. “This vibration therapy device is a must before any red carpet event. It helps wake my face up and makes my skin feel more contoured.”

And when it comes to hydration she’s ride or die for Honest Beauty Hydrogel. “It’s a day-to-day face moisturizer staple for me. Lightweight, super hydrating and leaves the most gorgeous glow — definitely a must for skin prep.”

Product Placement

“Since the hair is vintage-inspired, we kept the makeup more modern to balance everything out. I’m all about blending timeless glamour with a fresh, modern twist. I went for a fresh, pink smoky look with a fox eye and a more nude lip. The eye makeup pulls in tones of peachy mauve and rose gold, tying it all together with a soft nude lip.”

Snack Break

“Lately, I’ve been all about acai bowls — they’ve been my go-to snack. I had one while getting ready today, along with my favorite Mountain Valley spring water. But you’ll always find me with an assortment of snacks — think seaweed, nuts, dried mango, popcorn — I’m a big snacker!”

And she’s not kidding. Alba also orders an epic spread from Lady and Larder, a female-founded, 100% family-owned and operated business. “Their cheese, charcuterie and farmer’s market crudité boards are a go-to that my glam squad and I love to snack on as I’m getting ready.”

Get On Your Feet

Alba completed the ensemble with a pair of Aquazzura heels that featured a style hack. “#Protip: I always add double padding to make any heel more comfortable. Ever since COVID, my feet do NOT like high heels, so I have to make sure I can wear them for more than 45 minutes!”
