“Jennifer Lopez and Daughter Emme Twin in Chic Looks to Cheer On George Clooney’s Broadway Debut”

Jennifer Lopez and her teenage daughter, 17-year-old Emme Maribel Muñiz, reveled in a stylish outing on Broadway.

The duo donned polished matching black ensembles featuring vintage velvet accents during the New York premiere of George Clooney’s theatrical production. Lopez, 54, previously shared the screen with Clooney in Steven Soderbergh’s 1998 crime romance Out of Sight.

Earlier this month, Lopez brought Emme to see Jake Gyllenhaal and Denzel Washington in Shakespeare’s Othello revival, captioning an Instagram post about their mother-daughter night as “the best date.”

The multi-hyphenate entertainer, known for her recent project This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, frequently praises her bond with Emme. Speaking to PEOPLE in 2020, she expressed, “It’s limitless devotion. Every parent feels this, but my children are extraordinary. I’m eager to witness their future journeys.”

Emme and her twin brother Max were born in 2008 to Lopez and her former spouse, Marc Anthony.

Clooney heads the cast of Good Night, and Good Luck, a theatrical version of his 2005 film exploring CBS reporter Edward R. Murrow’s historic takedown of Senator Joseph McCarthy’s abuses of power. While Clooney originally portrayed producer Fred W. Friendly on screen, he now assumes Murrow’s role for the stage adaptation. David Strathairn earned an Academy Award nomination for portraying the journalist in the original movie.

The actor-director revealed his motivation stems partially from his journalist father Nick Clooney’s career. “This felt like the perfect moment to emphasize journalism’s critical role in democracy and imagine our nation without a free press,” Clooney shared with Vulture. “It’s also valuable to reflect on moments when individuals courageously challenged authority.”

Marking Clooney’s Broadway debut, the production follows his earlier theater work including 1986’s Los Angeles-based Vicious about Sex Pistols member Sid Vicious, which launched his screen career. Good Night, and Good Luck continues performances through June 8, with tickets currently available.
