Jennifer Lopez and Daughter Emme Shine Backstage with the Cast of Buena Vista Social Club on Broadway

Jennifer Lopez and her child enjoyed an evening out!

On Saturday, April 5, the 55-year-old singer and actress was photographed attending the Buena Vista Social Club musical in New York City with her teenager, Emme Maribel Muñiz, who is 17 years old.

The pair were captured backstage with the ensemble of the new musical, which was written by Marco Ramirez and directed by Saheem Ali.

Lopez displayed a radiant smile in images taken during the event, wrapping one arm around her child as they posed at the center of the production’s cast.

The “If You Had My Love” performer was also seen in a solo image while holding the program for the show.

Lopez shared photos from her night on her Instagram Stories, pairing them with Buena Vista Social Club’s 1997 hit “Chan Chan” and handclap emojis.

In another post featuring herself and Emme, the proud mother, who shares Emme’s twin brother Max Muñiz, 17, with her former spouse Marc Anthony, captioned, “@buenavistamusical with my coco.”

Buena Vista Social Club, which debuted on Broadway on March 19, 2025, narrates the tale of the Cuban musical group that inspired the Grammy-winning album, Buena Vista Social Club.

“A world-class Afro-Cuban band is joined by a remarkable cast in this unforgettable story of survival, second chances, and the immense power of music,” a statement regarding the production noted.

The choreography of the production is also spearheaded by Patricia Delgado and Tony Award winner Justin Peck, who crafted the choreography for Steven Spielberg’s 2021 theatrical adaptation of West Side Story.

According to the release, the cast of Buena Vista Social Club features Natalie Venetia Belcon (Omara), Julio Monge (Compay), Mel Semé (Ibrahim), Jainardo Batista Sterling (Rubén), Isa Antonetti (Young Omara), Da’von T. Moody (Young Compay), Wesley Wray (Young Ibrahim), and Leonardo Reyna (Young Rubén).

The production also features Renesito Avich (Eliades), Ashley De La Rosa (Young Haydee), Justin Cunningham (Juan de Marcos), Angélica Beliard, Carlos Falú, Carlos Gonzalez, Héctor Juan Maisonet, Ilda Mason, Marielys Molina, Andrew Montgomery Coleman, Sophia Ramos, Anthony Santos, Martín Sola, and Tanairi Sade Vazquez.

Lopez’s recent outing followed her and Emme’s attendance at the premiere of George Clooney’s new Broadway play Good Night, and Good Luck on April 3.

The Maid in Manhattan actress even took a photo with her Out of Sight co-star at the afterparty held at the New York Public Library.

Emme and Lopez also attended the Broadway opening night of Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal’s recent revival of Othello last month.
