Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are guardians to five offspring.

Merely a year after their nuptials in 2006, Spelling and McDermott welcomed their first child, Liam. In 2008, their initial daughter, Stella, joined the clan. Their second daughter, Hattie, arrived in 2011, while their second son, Finn, was born in 2012. McDermott is also the father to son Jack, 25, from his earlier union with Mary Jo Eustace.

Spelling and McDermott faced difficulties in their relationship shortly after Finn’s arrival. Yet, after resolving some issues, they discovered they were expecting again — a “sign” of a fresh chapter in their marriage, as per Spelling. Their youngest, Beau, was born in early 2017, prompting the couple to “begin anew” and reassess their marriage from a different viewpoint.

Nonetheless, in June 2023, McDermott declared his separation from Spelling in a now-removed post on Instagram.

“It’s with immense sorrow and a profoundly heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 wonderful children, that @torispelling and I have opted to pursue our individual paths and embark on a new journey,” he expressed. “We will keep collaborating as loving parents and support and cherish our children during this challenging time.”

McDermott sought treatment for prescription medication and alcohol dependency shortly after the unexpected revelation, with Spelling formally initiating divorce proceedings in March 2024. She requested sole physical custody and joint legal custody of their five children.

Below is essential information regarding Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott’s children.

The eldest of Spelling and McDermott’s children, Liam Aaron McDermott, was born on March 13, 2007, in Los Angeles. Following a demanding delivery, a representative for the couple disclosed that the new family was “very happy” and Spelling was doing well after a cesarean section.

Liam’s formative years were documented on his parents’ reality television series Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. From his birth to significant events such as birthdays and holidays, cameras captured his family’s moments until he neared 5 years old.

Subsequently, Spelling and McDermott have shared key milestones in Liam’s life on social media, including his 2019 elementary school graduation. In one post, Spelling praised her eldest, describing him as “kind, intelligent, clever, resilient, driven, humorous, and remarkable” while sharing photographs from the ceremony. Regrettably, middle school became challenging for Liam, as Spelling noted he experienced “considerable bullying” during his first year at his new educational institution. Apart from allegedly being labeled “unmotivated” and “sluggish” by a school administrator, Spelling revealed that the bullying had taken a toll on him physically.

“He was bullied to the extent that it caused him severe emotional headaches and stomach distress,” Spelling recounted. “The bullying escalated to a point where we had to leave.”

Recently, Liam has experimented with various hair shades, like blue and orange, as showcased on his Instagram. He also participated in Pride events with his father and stepbrother Jack McDermott in 2022.

Stella Doreen McDermott, 16

Stella McDermott

Spelling and McDermott’s second child, Stella Doreen, was born on June 9, 2008, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. Following her birth, Spelling’s spokesperson announced that their baby girl was “healthy” and the family was “resting comfortably.” Stella’s name holds particular significance for the couple, with her first name inspired by one of Spelling’s beloved books and her middle name serving as a tribute to McDermott’s deceased mother.

“I was once captivated by the book Great Expectations, and Estella was the lead character,” Spelling recalled. “I mentioned that to Dean, and he responded, ‘That’s an excellent name.’ We toyed with the name Estella without it quite fitting. One day, Dean suggested, ‘What about Stella?’ I replied, ‘That’s it!’ ”

Similar to her older brother, Stella has also appeared on her parents’ reality show Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. The cameras captured her significant milestones, including her lavish 1st birthday celebration. Over the years, Stella has enjoyed numerous extravagant parties, all organized by Spelling.

The actress has referred to her daughter as a “Jill-of-all-trades” — and Stella’s Instagram bio reflects that. Stella identifies as a baker, craftsperson, model, actress, animal communicator, and anti-bullying activist. Additionally, she aspires to be a makeup artist, showcasing impressive creations on social media. For Valentine’s Day, she crafted a vivid pink look adorned with hearts around her eyes, and she shared a photo of her elaborate Halloween makeup and costume.

Like her older brother, Stella has faced bullying at school. Spelling noted that Stella had to transition to another school due to the insufficient intervention from the administrators in her elementary school regarding the bullying. McDermott later clarified that the bullying, which encompassed comments about Stella’s weight and sexual remarks, led their daughter to experience PTSD and other physical health issues such as headaches and stomach problems.

Stella’s well-being appeared to improve after transferring to a school that addressed her concerns regarding bullying. Furthermore, she secured her first modeling opportunity with the brand Petite ‘n Pretty and made an appearance on MasterChef Celebrity Family Showdown.

“How Stella regained her spirit… thanks to @petitenpretty – Her inaugural modeling shoot as a teenage girl,” Spelling shared on Instagram. “Stella is a remarkable individual. She has a heart of gold and consistently leads with compassion. She’s innovative, full of creativity, and possesses an unquenchable spirit. As a mother, it was profoundly painful to witness the dimming of a young woman’s light due to bullying.”

On January 11, 2023, Spelling disclosed on her Instagram Story that Stella was once again facing health issues. The actress shared a photograph of her daughter in a hospital bed, adorned with a gown and face mask.

“The challenges just keep coming😭,”
“`Spelling shared along with the image.

A few days afterward, Spelling joined SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live to reveal more information regarding Stella’s wellbeing.

“She has visited the ER twice, where she was diagnosed with a hemiplegic migraine,” she clarified. “One side of your body becomes numb, almost imitating what a stroke feels like.”

Hattie Margaret McDermott, 13

Hattie McDermott

In 2011, Spelling and McDermott revealed the birth of their second daughter Hattie Margaret. Their daughter arrived on Oct. 10, 2011, weighing 6 lbs., 14 oz. and measuring 20 inches in length. The couple opted not to discover the baby’s gender before birth and mentioned they were “really surprised” to learn Hattie was a girl.

Adjusting to having a new sibling was a shift for Stella and Liam, with Spelling sharing that Stella was like, ‘Hold on a minute’ when Hattie came along. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for the siblings to bond, and Stella soon appreciated having a little sister.

“Now [Stella] adores it because her fun is picking out Hattie’s outfits — she styles her,” Spelling disclosed on The Talk.

Despite growing up, Spelling mentions the sisters have stayed close, referring to them as “soul sisters” in a heartfelt Instagram post for National Sisters Day. She expressed that she “couldn’t be prouder” of the pair and cherished their “unique connection,” which has only deepened over the years.

For Hattie’s 8th birthday in 2019, Spelling called her daughter a “unique free-spirited fiery soul strong-willed artistic indigo child.” Like her mother, she has a fascination with horror and a “love for the dark and mystical.” Spelling further states that Hattie possesses a passion for creativity and seems to have developed an interest in makeup similar to her older sister!

In October 2022, Spelling marked her daughter’s 11th birthday with a Halloween-themed celebration. The proud mother shared a video montage from the event on Instagram, showcasing clips of the birthday girl smashing a skeleton piñata and extinguishing candles on her haunted house cake. “Hattie’s adorably spooky Halloween Birthday … this is 11 🖤,” Spelling captioned the footage.

Finn Davey McDermott, 12

Finn McDermott

Spelling and McDermott welcomed their fourth child, Finn Davey, on Aug. 30, 2012, after a difficult pregnancy. During her pregnancy, Spelling was hospitalized and required bed rest due to placenta previa, a condition where the placenta fully or partially obstructs the uterine opening. Baby Finn was delivered through c-section at 37 weeks, and regrettably, Spelling faced complications afterward. She had to undergo emergency surgery but thankfully recovered.

She later revealed that the difficult pregnancy had a lasting influence on her: Even long after Finn’s birth, she remained quite cautious with him.

“Dean states I’m actually more protective of Finn than I was of the other three,” Spelling told PEOPLE in 2013. “Due to what Finn and I experienced medically — it was a hard pregnancy — I might not consciously realize it, but at home, I often find myself behind him going, ‘Wha! Wha! Wha!’ And Dean is like, ‘Please stop gasping!’ ”

Despite her efforts to be particularly cautious with Finn, Spelling described him as “rambunctious,” calling him the “little bruiser of the family.” She noted that he is quite unlike his brother Liam and humorously remarked that Finn frequently runs around “causing chaos.”

Spelling added, “Liam was an extremely calm baby, and with Finn, the moment you turn away for even a second, his finger is in the socket and he’s wrapping the blinds around himself. He is that kid.”

For his 9th birthday in 2021, Spelling referred to Finn as her “miracle baby” who possesses a “ginormous” heart and a “beautiful soul” — and delights in sharing fun facts with the family. “We twin inside and out in so many ways,” Spelling expressed on Instagram. “Except, I aspire to be the person he is. You are magical Finn Davey.”

Beau Dean McDermott, 8

Beau McDermott

On March 2, 2017, Spelling and McDermott celebrated the arrival of their youngest child, Beau Dean. Spelling’s pregnancy was significantly smoother than her previous one, and both mother and baby were in good health upon his birth.

“We are absolutely enamored with baby Beau,” Spelling expressed to PEOPLE. “He is a true blessing and his siblings were thrilled to welcome him! We are genuinely thankful for our large, beautiful, and healthy family.”

Spelling noted that Beau arrived at an opportune time for their family, coming when they “all needed a bit of hope.” She mentioned that he quickly became the “sunshine of life” for them, and as a “wise little old soul,” he kept everyone amused.

Throughout the years, Beau has frequently appeared on his parents’ social media, showcasing his charming personality and affinity for animals. He also enjoys academics and sports, often accompanying his dad to the golf course. McDermott has mentioned that Beau’s golfing skills are so impressive that he refers to him as “Beau Beau Watson” — partly because both Beau and golf star Bubba Watson are left-handed.

On Beau’s 6th birthday in 2023, Spelling shared an Instagram Reel that depicted moments from her pregnancy along with pictures of Beau as a baby. “I can’t believe my little one is 6 today,” she wrote in the caption, before adding, “He brings such joy and laughter into my life, his father’s life, and all of his siblings,” and highlighting, “He completes all of us.”

In March 2023, Beau and McDermott had an enjoyable father-son adventure at the PAW Patrol 10th anniversary celebration in Los Angeles.

“Beau and I had an excellent time at the @nickelodeon studios today,” the proud dad posted on Instagram. “We watched the special 10th anniversary episode. We met Rubble, Chase, and Skye!! We had snacks and wrapped up the day with a coloring contest. I think Beau excelled. I played it safe and stayed within the lines, but Beau really embraced bold colors and expressed himself freely with his artwork.”

Jack Montgomery McDermott, 25

McDermott is also a parent to his son Jack, whom he welcomed with his former spouse Mary Jo Eustace in 1998.

Spelling maintains a close bond with her stepson, although she has mentioned that she and Jack experienced times of distance during the “years of awkwardness” in his teenage years. On Oct. 7, 2019, she celebrated Jack’s 21st birthday by sharing a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. She commenced the extensive post by reminiscing about when she first encountered Jack at the age of 6.

“Alright, I’m going to embarrass you for a moment @thejackmonty … I’ve known this fellow since he was nearly 7. I cherished our initial meeting because he had no clue who I was. And by that, I don’t mean Tori Spelling, but the woman his father was seeing,” she noted.

“He was going through a lot, and his mom and dad were doing their utmost to navigate a very challenging situation for a boy of his age. Divorce,” she remarked.

The actress continued to say that she and Jack “connected over dogs, his rabbit DIY school assignment, tag, hide and seek, and video games.”

She also expressed her feelings regarding his coming out, stating, “I was incredibly proud of his assurance. He was true to himself and took pride in it. And then we forged a connection again. We discovered each other at a new level with a renewed respect for one another.”

On Dec. 5, 2022, Jack criticized Eustace on Instagram, expressing his dissatisfaction with how she spoke about his family during McDermott and Eustace’s podcast Ex’s & Uh-Ohs.

“Since my parents’ separation in 2006, I have seldom voiced my opinions as I chose to remain uninvolved. Unfortunately, due to my mother’s recent choice to share details about my Dad, Stepmom, and my siblings, I can no longer remain silent,” Jack stated.

“Around a week ago, my Dad decided to withdraw from his podcast with my mother ‘Ex’s & Uh-Ohs’. He opted to leave because of negative remarks concerning our family and ongoing attempts to tarnish his character. He also determined to step away due to the show’s producer betraying his trust and revealing confidential information,” he added.

“For 17 years, my father has sought forgiveness for errors he made in the past. He has evolved significantly as a person. Up until a week ago, our two families were [sic] living in synergy,” Jack expressed. “With this podcast, it has driven a wedge between our two families and generated a rift I cannot repair. Sadly, I am unsure if it can be.”

The next day, a source informed PEOPLE that Eustace continues to “honor” her son’s “right to voice his opinion” following his claims that she caused family discord.

A source close to Eustace conveyed to PEOPLE: “I’m certain it’s very painful for Mary Jo to learn that her son is speaking unfavorably about her. Regrettably, the reality remains that it was Dean who was disloyal and departed from Mary Jo and the children and then again unfaithful to Tori.”

“It was Mary Jo who managed 90 percent of the parenting and has been a caring and consistent figure. Having said that, she respects Jack’s right to express himself. And always will.”
