**”I Want to Be Invisible”: Gabriel Macht Opens Up About Secret Move and Cherished Anonymity (Exclusive)**

- Gabriel Macht disclosed to PEOPLE earlier this year that his household relocated abroad to an undisclosed foreign country
- The mysterious relocation captivated fans’ curiosity, leaving the actor perplexed by the intense interest
- While promoting new series Suits LA stateside, the performer emphasizes he cherishes his privacy and won’t reveal where he resides with spouse Jacinda Barrett and their children
Gabriel Macht craves existence beyond the spotlight’s reach.
The Suits LA star, having relocated his family to a confidential overseas destination, treasures the unrecognized freedom his hidden lifestyle provides, as he shares exclusively with PEOPLE.
Macht, 53, and actress wife Barrett chose to depart America with their teenage daughter Satine, 17, and son Luca, 10, deliberately maintaining their new home’s secrecy. The unexpected public fascination with their move surprised the actor.
“I hoped it would seem mundane,” Macht confesses. “Nothing worth sensationalizing.”
Reality proved otherwise. “People inquire constantly,” he notes regarding his whereabouts, though he remains tight-lipped.
“My anonymous existence brings me joy. When working in character, I engage with fans,” he explains, “but off-duty, I prefer complete obscurity.”
“I strive for invisibility,” Macht continues. “My children’s comfort remains paramount.”
The actor-producer initially discussed the international move during a January interview with PEOPLE.
“We’re embracing global exploration,” he revealed at the time, adding, “Our exact location stays private by design.”
Following Suits’ 2019 conclusion after nine seasons, Macht embraced an extended acting hiatus for family time. “Pre-pandemic plans involved homeschooling during travels,” Macht recalled. “Lockdowns trapped us in Manhattan, which felt increasingly stifling.”
Having split his life between American coasts, the star sought transformation. “We craved new horizons,” he stated, “so we departed.”
Returning stateside for Suits LA filming stirred complex emotions.
“There’s nostalgia in this homecoming,” Macht shared at the spin-off’s February premiere.

Macht and Australian-born Barrett connected through a 2000 blind date, exchanging vows in 2004. Their family grew with Satine’s 2007 birth and Luca’s 2014 arrival.
Though valuing privacy, the actor consistently prioritizes his family.
“My world revolves around my wife and children,” he told Woman’s Day New Zealand. “Family bonds guide my life’s decisions.”
Fresh episodes of Suits LA air Sundays on NBC, streaming next-day via Peacock.
