Haley Joel Osment Faces Arrest Over Public Intoxication at Ski Resort After Unruly Behavior: Exclusive Details Inside
Haley Joel Osment was arrested at a ski lodge following reports of “unruly conduct,” according to a source.
On Tuesday, April 8, the 37-year-old actor was booked for alleged public intoxication and possession of an unidentified controlled substance in Mammoth Lakes, California.
A police source revealed on Wednesday, April 16, “The controlled substance is currently presumed to be cocaine. We have sent it for testing and will have the results soon.”
The star of The Sixth Sense was apprehended at the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area’s Mill Base Lodge parking lot around 2 p.m. local time on April 8, after authorities received a call regarding Osment’s “unruly conduct” on the mountain.
Sergeant Jason Heilman confirmed, “He was booked and is no longer in custody.”
“Public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance are the charges associated with the arrest on April 8,” Heilman added earlier on Wednesday.
Osment has not been indicted on the charges filed against him. The Mono County District Attorney’s Office has yet to announce whether he will face charges, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The Mono County Sheriff’s Office had previously confirmed that Osment was arrested by the Mammoth Lakes Police Department, providing a mugshot taken after the incident.
Representatives for the actor did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
This is not the first time Osment has faced legal issues. In 2018, police were called due to a public verbal altercation at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas on Super Bowl Sunday.
In 2006, when he was 18, Osment was charged with misdemeanor drunk driving following injuries from a car accident. He later pleaded no contest to one count of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of possession of marijuana, resulting in a sentence of three years of probation.
