Gene Simmons Justifies His $12K Personal Assistant Role on Tour: ‘It’s a Unique Opportunity’

Gene Simmons is reaffirming his $12,000 proposal for enthusiasts to partake in “The Ultimate Gene Simmons Experience.”
On Tuesday, March 25, the KISS bassist and co-lead vocalist, 75, justified his choice to impose a fee exceeding $12,000 for one admirer to serve as his “personal assistant and band roadie” for a single day during an interview with the New York Post.
“When I was younger and attended concerts, I was always inquisitive, ‘What’s it like when they’re in a hotel? What’s it like when the stage is being arranged? What’s it like being onstage during a performance and witnessing the audience from the stage?’” he stated to the publication.
Simmons elaborated, “I thought, ‘You know, nobody’s ever done it. Why not invite the idea of being my personal roadie for the day?’”
He then elaborated on the specifics of what the day would involve.
“You gather at the hotel where you can enjoy breakfast together or, you know, whatever pleases you,” added Simmons.
He also mentioned that the individual who acquires the package would be allowed to bring a companion.
“You accompany me to the concert. You can arrange amplifiers and drums to your satisfaction. You’re onstage, just offstage to my right. You can film the audience, whatever. And I’ll bring you onstage to sing a song with me,” said Simmons.
Whoever registers to be his “personal assistant” will also be gifted a bass guitar autographed by the “Radioactive” vocalist.
Earlier this month, Simmons unveiled various Experiences on his official website, which enthusiasts can purchase in advance of his tour.
“The Ultimate Gene Simmons Experience” will enable fans to meet Simmons and his band, assist him with load-in at the venue, arrange the stage, listen to sound checks, and spend leisure time backstage.
The roadie will also have the opportunity to share a meal with Simmons and will even be introduced to the audience at the concert.
The experience is priced at $12,495, in addition to the original ticket cost and includes a bass guitar KISS previously utilized. It is limited to one fan per venue.
Simmons is also offering a package known as the “Gene Simmons Bass Experience,” which will provide a fan and three guests the chance to meet the “See You Tonite” musician backstage.
A fan will be able to take home one of Simmons’ bass guitars, which can be signed and customized for $6,500 for a “non-stage-played” instrument, and $12,500 for one that Simmons has previously played at a show, plus the ticket price.
Simmons is scheduled to embark on a tour with The Gene Simmons Band in April.
