Exploring the Legacy: A Deep Dive into Keith Richards’ Five Remarkable Children

As one of the founding members of The Rolling Stones, musician Keith Richards has undoubtedly lived a remarkable life. Beyond his stature as an iconic rock star, Keith is also a devoted father to his five children.

In the 1970s, Keith welcomed his first three children with model Anita Pallenberg: sons Marlon and Tara, and daughter Angela. After his relationship with Pallenberg ended, Keith married model Patti Hansen, with whom he had two daughters: Theodora and Alexandra.

While Keith hasn’t extensively discussed his kids, some prefer to stay out of the limelight more than others. Born on August 10, 1969, Marlon Leon Sundeep Richards is Keith and Pallenberg’s eldest son. His upbringing was anything but conventional, as he traveled extensively with Keith, Pallenberg, and the band during their rise to fame.

“Of course it was hard on him,” Keith commented on Marlon’s childhood. Pallenberg later elaborated that she took Marlon everywhere while touring, only sending him to school at eight years old. “I taught him how to read and write while Keith’s mother looked after my daughter,” she said.

Marlon met model Lucie de la Falaise on a blind date arranged by Pallenberg in 1992. They married in 1994 and have three children: Ella Rose, Orson, and Ida Violet. By 2010, it was reported that Marlon lived in a farmhouse in England and worked as a gallery curator, graphic artist, and photographer.

“It’s amazing what kids can adapt to. It all comes out in the wash,” Keith remarked. “And anyway, we didn’t really do anything that wrong. I mean, he could have grown up the son of health-nut freaks.”

Marlon’s daughter Ella has made a name for herself as a model, often photographed alongside other notable children, including Kate Moss’ daughter, Lila Moss. In 2012, Ella revealed she shared clothes with her mom but also enjoyed borrowing her father’s “really nice cashmere sweaters.”

Angela Richards, born on April 17, 1972, is Keith and Pallenberg’s daughter. While her name is Dandelion, she goes by her middle name, Angela.

Interestingly, despite popular belief, Keith’s song “Angie” was not inspired by her. In his autobiography, Keith explained that the name came to him during writing, and it wasn’t associated with any specific person.

Angela married Dominic Jennings in 1998, and they were together for 15 years before separating. She later got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Graham Whitney, in 2020. They share two children: Ava Melody, born in 2011, and Otto Reed, born in 2014.

While Angela maintains a private life with no public social media presence, she appears to be close with her siblings. Tara Jo Jo Gunne Richards, the second son of Keith and Pallenberg, was born on March 26, 1976. Tragically, he passed away from sudden infant death syndrome two months later.

At the time of Tara’s death, Keith was on tour in Paris. In a 2015 interview, he described the shock of receiving the news over the phone. He chose to continue with his scheduled performance to cope with the loss as his family was in Geneva.

Reflecting on his choice to tour shortly after Tara’s birth, Keith expressed regret in his autobiography, stating, “Leaving a newborn is something I can’t forgive myself for. It’s as if I deserted my post.”

Co-author James Fox recalled that during their initial discussion about Tara for the book, Keith struggled to speak about the loss. It became clear that the memory weighed heavily on him.

Theodora Dupree Richards, 40

Born on July 28, 1986, Theodora Dupree Richards is Keith’s youngest child. She currently works as a DJ and frequently appears at events alongside her famous friends.

Despite her public persona, Alexandra once described herself as “the shyest person” and mentioned that she never actively sought the spotlight. Growing up in a serene home in Connecticut, she noted how disconnected they were from the chaos of city life.

Alexandra began modeling at a young age, starting with a job alongside Theodora for Tommy Hilfiger at just 14. She traveled internationally for modeling gigs but eventually pivoted to DJing at the age of 21, inspired by her friend E.B. Sollis. The two combined their talents to create the duo Ebeneezer Wolf Child, leading her to perform worldwide.
