**Exclusive: Nick Offerman’s Healing Advice to Rob Delaney After Filming Emotionally Intense ‘Dying for Sex’**

Dying for Sex put Rob Delaney through the wringer – emotionally speaking.

Reimagined for television by writers Kim Rosenstock and Elizabeth Meriwether, the FX anthology series chronicles the true-life friendship between Nikki Boyer and Molly Kochan. Their bond strengthens after Molly receives a terminal stage 4 metastatic breast cancer diagnosis, prompting her to pursue sexual adventures during her final days.

During this journey, Molly (played by Michelle Williams) crosses paths with a neighbor known as Guy (Delaney, 48) who finds gratification in erotic humiliation. As their relationship evolves, their intimate escapades escalate in intensity.

When asked about joining the poignant yet darkly comedic project, Delaney explains to PEOPLE: “The talent behind this spoke volumes. With Liz Meriwether, Kim Rosenstock, director Shannon Murphy, and Michelle Williams both producing and acting – how could I refuse?”

“They offered me the script, but I trusted them implicitly,” the actor admits. “However, during production, the emotional hurdles unexpectedly overwhelmed me. I found myself weeping constantly on set.”

“We’re talking buckets of tears – Michelle’s raw performance combined with Kim and Liz’s truthful storytelling created an incredibly authentic atmosphere,” he continues. “It became emotionally grueling yet artistically rewarding.”

The Deadpool star reveals needing emotional recovery post-filming: “I phoned Nick Offerman asking, ‘How do professional actors unwind after draining roles?’ His advice was practical – prioritize hydration, rest, and physical activity.”

Delaney describes challenging shooting days: “I’d mentally prepare like, ‘In sixty minutes, I’ll be sobbing naked on hospital flooring.’ The exhaustion was real, but witnessing our collective dedication to honest storytelling made it worthwhile.”

Jay Duplass (playing Molly’s husband Steve) compares the experience to his time on Transparent: “We developed decompression rituals post-filming. While less intense than this project, we recognized the importance of transitioning from character back to self through mindfulness practices.”

The actor elaborates: “Through meditation and open dialogues, we’d shed our fictional personas. It allowed me to resume family life without emotional residue.”

Dying for Sex is currently available for streaming on Hulu.
