“Exclusive: Jennifer Lawrence ‘Thrilled’ to Welcome Second Child — ‘Perfect Timing,’ Source Reveals”

Jennifer Lawrence is adapting to her role as a mother of two.

After welcoming her second child with spouse Cooke Maroney, an insider shares with PEOPLE that the Don’t Look Up actress remains “in good spirits.”

“Her eldest was born in Los Angeles. She recently had her second baby in New York,” the source says of Lawrence, 34. “She felt thrilled about expanding their family and believed the timing was ideal. She maintained an active lifestyle and enjoyed a smooth pregnancy.”

“Jennifer embraces playful parenting and adores adventures with her son,” the informant continues. “She’s also intensely private about her family life, prioritizing her children’s anonymity above all.”

Representatives for the Academy Award winner have not yet commented on the report.

The Hunger Games star initially revealed her second pregnancy through a joint Vogue Instagram announcement and feature story in late 2024.

“Cheers to Jennifer Lawrence! The acclaimed performer and her art curator partner Cooke Maroney are expanding their family,” the publication declared, noting confirmation from Lawrence’s team.

Married since October 2019, the pair first became parents to son Cy, now 3, born in early 2022.

Maternal responsibilities have inspired Lawrence to reconsider professional commitments since Cy’s arrival.

“Parenting reshapes your priorities,” she explained to Cameron Diaz during a 2023 Interview magazine discussion. “Every project now gets filtered through one question: ‘Is this worth time away from my family?’”

The star has openly discussed maternal anxieties, including humorous pre-birth concerns. Speaking with Vogue, she recalled worrying if maternal affection could rival her devotion to a pet.

“Discussing parenthood feels precarious,” Lawrence admitted. “Experiences vary so widely. If I emphasize the magical aspects, others might feel inadequate if their journey started differently.”

The actress credits friends’ honesty about parental challenges: “One conversation stands out – nearing my due date, I asked a close friend, ‘People say I’ll love this baby more than my cat. What if I only love them equally?’”
