Sir Elton John and home fragrance expert Harry Slatkin have teamed up once more!

Following the tremendous success of their holiday candle and diffuser collection that sold out shortly after its debut, the music icon and the Slatkin + Co. founder are introducing the Spring Woodside Collection, featuring five brand-new candles and diffusers alongside an elegant set.

“It’s such a rewarding feeling to see people embracing something you’ve poured your heart into,” John shares about the enthusiastic response to their home fragrance launch last year. “Working on this line with my husband, David, and Harry has brought me a lot of joy.”

This positive feedback made returning for a second collaboration an obvious choice.

“We received such wonderful comments on the scents, the packaging, and the entire collection that we knew we had to give people more!” John exclaims.

For this collection, which launched exclusively on QVC on April 14, the musician, affectionately nicknamed the Candle Man, and Slatkin aimed to capture “the essence of spring” at John’s Woodside estate, a place filled with cherished memories for him.

“I reminisce about the wonderful days I’ve spent wandering through the gardens, soaking in the beauty of the blooms, fresh fruit, and even those rainy spring days. The rain really brings out the beauty in the gardens. I often recall taking walks right after the rain, resting in the scent of fresh rain combined with honeysuckle and white jasmine petals,” he reflects.

Coincidentally, spring is John’s favorite season at his historical residence.

“It’s hard to choose just one favorite aspect—the whole estate is alive with excitement! There’s nothing quite like it: the fresh blooms, the sunshine, and the vibrant energy of the season!”

The esteemed home fragrance brand helped John share the seasonal scents of Woodside with his fans. The collection includes fragrances like Apple Mint Tea, English Moss, Spring Rain, Sugared Pear & Vanilla, Windsor Festival, and Ginger Mango. John mentions he’s “particularly fond” of Ginger Mango. “It has always been one of my favorite combinations, and we always have it burning.”

Talking about the delightful English Lavender scent, he explains, “Every year, we make shortbread infused with English Lavender grown in the kitchen garden. The dried lavender is mixed into baked vanilla shortbread and then topped with sugar crystals and a hint of nutmeg.”

The Ivy’s Rose Garden fragrance holds special significance. “It’s inspired by my grandmother and her love for the roses outside of the Orangery at Woodside,” John notes, mentioning that perfecting this aroma was particularly challenging.

“I aimed to create a scent that transported you to the rose garden and captured the essence of all the other beautiful aromas in the garden—peony, cedarwood, and a touch of citrus from the nearby orchard.”

One fragrance from the holiday collection makes a return in spring: Rhubarb Strawberry Crumble. The 78-year-old musician declares it a perfect addition.

“The Rhubarb Strawberry Crumble scent was so popular that we decided to bring it back! Freshly picked from the Woodside gardens, we combine rhubarb and strawberries with honey and bake them until they’re hot and bubbly—this candle smells just like a fresh one coming out of the oven, ready to be enjoyed!”

Another fragrance featured in the collection is Apple Mint Tea, a crisp yet sweet aroma found in the Woodside Hamper trio.

English Moss, with its fresh eucalyptus and cedarwood notes, also offers a tart green apple scent for those who prefer something a little zesty.

Spring Rain was essential for this collection; in John and Slatkin’s interpretation, its scent brings together the essence of fallen rain with lush honeysuckle, jasmine petals, and stems.

Sugared Pear & Vanilla is enhanced with sparkling orange notes and grounded with amberwood.

Lastly, Windsor Festival combines bergamot with florals such as neroli and ylang-ylang, accented by sandalwood.

As with all of Slatkin’s products, the packaging is just as important as the scent within. He and John meticulously designed the cartons and votives to reflect their vision for the season.

“We took great care to ensure our packaging was perfect,” John explains. Similar to the holiday collection, the candles are presented in glass vessels but now feature beautiful spring hues and an embossed piano-key pattern.

“The reed diffusers are simple yet elegant—each comes in a floral gift box. My favorite packaging, however, is our curated trio of candles in a reusable wicker hamper—a quintessential English gift for any special occasion!”

As John’s collections encompass both candles and reed diffusers, we asked him about the ideal situations for each. His advice was:

“Candles are best for creating short-term fragrance and ambiance; I particularly enjoy having candles in my hallways when guests arrive—it creates a warm welcome. Reed diffusers are perfect for rooms that need a subtle scent.”

John was involved throughout the entire creation process, even lighting several of his new scents while collaborating with Brandi Carlile.

“Absolutely!” he responds. “As with our holiday collection, I made sure to smell and test each candle at every stage—from the oil to the final product.”

“My passion for candles has always been rooted in their ability to transform a space and evoke emotions,” John mentioned in a statement. “Collaborating with Slatkin + Co, and my dear friend Harry Slatkin, has been a genuine pleasure, and I’m excited to introduce this new collection just in time for spring.”

Slatkin added, “Being able to launch a second collection inspired by Elton’s Woodside estate is truly a dream. Our shared enthusiasm for fresh, vibrant fragrances has resulted in a beautiful collection for the spring season.”
