Dolly Parton Unveils Exciting New Memoir ‘Star of the Show’: A Heartfelt Celebration of Her Extraordinary Journey
Dolly Parton is hitting the books once more!
The country music icon, now 79, is set to release Star of the Show: My Life on Stage this fall through Ten Speed Press. Co-written with Tom Roland, this new book concludes the singer’s autobiographical trilogy, which also includes Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics and Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones.
Star of the Show honors the Grammy winner’s extensive career on stage, starting from her early performances alongside country artist Porter Wagoner. Parton rose to fame as a solo act with her hit song “Here You Come Again,” released in 1977.
In the book, Parton revisits some of her most memorable performances, including her acting debut in the 1980 film 9 to 5 (for which she wrote the famous song of the same name), her successful headline tours, and her unforgettable halftime show during the 2023 NFL season. She also shares her experiences of performing with stars like Kenny Rogers, Linda Ronstadt, and others.
“Brimming with Parton’s signature wit and genuine sincerity, Star of the Show: My Life on Stage serves not only as a tribute to one of history’s most beloved artists but also as a collectible treasure for all fans of the remarkable Dolly Parton,” the book’s description states.
The deluxe edition of the book will include over 350 stunning full-color photographs, along with an eight-page gatefold performance list. Parton is also set to narrate the audiobook edition, which will be released simultaneously by Penguin Random House Audio.
Parton has authored a range of works, including the holiday children’s book Dolly Parton’s Billy the Kid Comes Home for Christmas and the thriller Run, Rose, Run, which she co-wrote with bestselling author James Patterson.
