Demi Moore Reacts to Daughter Scout Willis’ New Music: ‘Beautiful Song, Beautiful YOU’
Demi Moore is supporting her daughter’s music journey!
On Saturday, Oct. 5, the proud mom and star of The Substance reposted the artwork for Scout Willis’ latest single, “Take Me,” alongside a touching Instagram message dedicated to her daughter.
“‘TAKE ME’ by @scoutlaruewillis. Beautiful song. Beautiful YOU,” Moore, 61, captioned the image. “So proud of you my love!”
Willis, 33, appeared to appreciate the sentiment, commenting in response, “Thank you mama 🥹🫠.”
The song marks Willis’ second track of the year under the name Scout LaRue Willis, following “Over and Over.”
Willis last released an album in June 2022 with her self-titled debut.
Willis told PEOPLE upon the announcement of her first album that she initially “had this idea that I shouldn’t and couldn’t pursue music full-time,” before realizing that it was “just a very clever way to hide from the deep, unconscious fear I had around sharing myself and my art with the world.”
“Looking back through the lens of this album and my own personal growth work, I’m in love with every experience that inspired these songs, every moment of challenge, heartbreak and victory, because each of them conspired to get me to this exact moment and I’ve never been more in love with myself and my life than I am right now,” she said at the time.
As for her most recent music output, Willis — daughter of Moore and Bruce Willis — released “Take Me” on Thursday, Oct. 3.
In September, at the Los Angeles premiere of The Substance, Scout caught up with PEOPLE about how her mother taught her the importance of appreciating her inner beauty, calling Moore a “model of working on feeling good from the inside.”
“Because I think there are people who are so exquisitely beautiful from the outside, who still feel so insecure and are in so much pain,” she said. “So I think she fostered in all of us a real desire to just feel beautiful, feel sexy, feel embodied.”
She also applauded Moore’s latest work on The Substance — in which Moore , whom is also mom to daughters Tallulah, 30, and Rumer, 36 — plays a celebrity who tries a black-market drug to create a younger version of herself.
“I feel like this movie is amazing because it’s poking fun a little bit, and it’s giving a satirical kind of critical eye to these beauty standards,” Willis said.
