Dax Shepard Reveals the One Thing His 11-Year-Old Daughter Lincoln Does That Makes Him Cry ‘Every Time’
Dax Shepard isn’t one to hold in his emotions.
As a guest on The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday, Sept. 10, the actor, 49, admitted that his wife Kristen Bell and their older daughter Lincoln, 11, can make him cry with one simple task: singing.
While playing a game of “Fast Five,” where he answered five rapid-fire questions, Dateline host Keith Morrison asked the dad of two: “What is something that will always get you to cry?”
“100% when I see — It used to be when I would see Kristen sing,” he began, “Which I get to see occasionally. She’ll host a charity event or something and she’ll sing, and every time I think ‘I can’t believe you can do that. It’s just so incredible.’ So I always cry when she sings.”
He continued, “But now we have an 11-year-old who sings as well, and does musical theater, and now I go and I cry the whole time she’s singing.”
It’s game over for Shepard when the mother-daughter duo duet, because, “If they sing together, I cry,” he said, adding, “That’s pretty much a fast-pass to me crying.”
In addition to Lincoln, Shepard and Bell are parents to daughter Delta, 9.
When speaking to PEOPLE back in May, the mom of two said it’s important for her and Shepard to model healthy behavior for their kids in all regards, and revealed one household rule they’ll never change.
“We always make up in front of them if anyone gets snarky or frustrated or fights, which we all do,” she said. “We do not have the makeup, our conflict resolution, be behind closed doors.
She continued, “Even if at dinner, let’s say, one of us is frustrated and is a little snarky and then we go to bed. We’ll apologize to each other the next morning.”
“Then we will apologize and make amends to each other in front of the kids so that they can see how conflict resolution actually happens,” the actress shared.
