Chris Olsen Celebrates Joint Birthday with Meghan Trainor at Rage Room: ‘Our First Hit Wasn’t the Best’
Chris Olsen’s latest birthday featured a link-up with his BFF and birthday twin Meghan Trainor — plus some live music from Billie Eilish!
The TikTok star — who turned 27 on Sunday, Dec. 22, as Trainor turned 31 — kicked off his special day ahead of schedule by attending Eilish’s Los Angeles concert on Saturday, Dec. 21.
Surrounded by pals, Olsen appeared to have a ball at his “birthday eve” concert at Kia Forum, sharing several snaps and clips from the show on Instagram. Among the footage were clips of Eilish, 23, performing her track “Wildflower” and a rendition of “O Holy Night.”
The influencer, who was one of PEOPLE’s 2024 Creators of the Year, also showed off his concert — and “birthday eve” — outfit in the same post.
For the L.A. show, Olsen wore a black cropped “Billie Eilish” tank top, which he accessorized with a simple chain and sunglasses. And nobody had to guess the color of his underwear, as his black and gray Tom Ford briefs poked purposefully out from his pants.
After ringing in his special day at the Kia Forum, the TikTok star spent his actual birthday with another pop star: his BFF, Trainor.
The best friend duo celebrated their joint birthday by heading to a rage room, Olsen revealed in an Instagram Reel.
“Meghan Trainor rented out a rage room for our birthday and…” text reads over the video, which begins with a clip of the “Mother” singer dancing in head-to-toe safety gear.
Next, the Reel cuts to a clip of Trainor and Olsen hitting a car in the rage room, which proved to be a bit underwhelming, the latter joked. “Our first hit wasn’t the best,” Olsen wrote alongside the video — which eventually saw the duo doing some damage.
The longtime friends also marked the shared special occasion with a festive — and characteristically silly — photo shoot, sharing some of the best snaps in a joint Instagram post. “It’s our birthday 🥳,” Olsen wrote in the caption.
Olsen’s birthday comes at the end of a tumultuous year for the TikTok star, who opened up about the hardships he experienced — and the good moments, like joining Trainor on her Timeless Tour — earlier this month as he was named one of PEOPLE’s Creators of the Year.
“While it has been a really big year, it’s also been probably one of the hardest years of my life since I got sober seven years ago,” he told PEOPLE.
The influencer, who made a name for himself by making comedy content, also recalled having “a bit of a public breakdown” in August due to the pressure he was experiencing. “I decided whatever I was doing wasn’t working anymore for me personally,” he said. “So I decided to change everything I was doing.”
Since then, Olsen said he’s found that what makes him happy often makes his viewers happy as well. “Part of the magic of it all is that the answer was within,” he told PEOPLE. “I think what was making that magic fade away was me pretending that nothing was affecting me when that’s not me.”
“Touching back in with myself is what helped,” he added. “And it continues to help.”
