Channing Tatum Is ‘Doing Well’ as He and Zoë Kravitz Keep Busy with Work After Their Split (Exclusive Sources)

Channing Tatum has been focusing on work in the two weeks since he split from ex-fiancée Zoë Kravitz.

“He’s been doing well since the split,” a source close to Tatum tells PEOPLE of the actor. “He’s focused on a new movie project in [North Carolina.] And he’s spending time with his daughter when he’s off.”

On Oct. 29, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Kravitz, 35, and Tatum, 44, had called off their engagement and gone their separate ways after three years of dating.

Tatum shared multiple posts to Instagram from the set of his upcoming movie Roofman in the days directly before and after news of the split went public, including one photo that showed him posing in front of a logo for the children’s retail store brand Toys ‘R’ Us. “Just broke out of prison and into a Toys R Us… how was your day,” Tatum wrote at that time, referencing his Oct. 29 post, where he shared he had been filming scenes for the movie in a prison.

Tatum shares one daughter, 11-year-old Everly, with ex-wife Jenna Dewan, his costar from the 2006 film Step Up. He and Dewan, 43, settled and finalized their divorce in September — six years after their own split. (She’s now engaged to actor Steve Kazee, with whom she shares Rhiannon, 4 months, and Callum, 4.)

Multiple outlets reported on Oct. 29 that Tatum and Kravitz were cast in a movie titled Alpha Gang just hours before PEOPLE broke the news of the pair’s breakup. Production insiders told PEOPLE on Nov. 1 that both Tatum and Kravitz will move forward with the project, which also stars Cate Blanchett, Dave Bautista, Steven Yeun and Riley Keough, despite the split. 

“They will continue to work together and are excited about a new project. They both love filming and creating,” a source said at that time. Channing has a lot of respect for Zoë’s focus and passion.”
