Chad ‘Ocho Cinco’ Johnson and Fiancée Sharelle Rosado Split: ‘He Is a Free Man Ladies’
Prior to their engagement, the pair had been publicly referring to one another as “fiancés” for some time, but Johnson made things official on Jan. 7, getting down on one knee in front of family and friends in Miami and presenting the former Selling Tampa star with a ring.
The Dancing with the Stars alum popped the question with an oval cut, 71/2-carat engagement ring at what he said was an early birthday party for himself, where 20 guest hid to witness the special moment.
“This was absolutely beautiful and to see my family and friends here to celebrate our love, that really did it for me,” Rosado told PEOPLE after the proposal.
She also noted that she was “very” surprised by the gesture. “He is definitely not a planner, so for him to pull this off for me is so amazing,” she said. “Just the thought he put into this and having our family and friends here to witness says a lot.”
At the time, Rosado also told PEOPLE that the engagement was “the next step of our beautiful journey together,” noting that she was “so emotional because when we first started dating, he used to always tell me, ‘I’m going to make you my wife.’ ”
“Although in my heart I knew we were always meant to be, now that it’s official, it’s even more special than I could have ever dreamed,” she added.
