Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider in Tangled live-action movie: I feel a little old!
Zachary Levi as Flynn: Zachary Levi has some ideas on which A-list star should play Eugene Fitzh— uh, Flynn Rider in a potential Tangled live-action movie.
“I mean, he’s already getting every other job, but probably Timothée Chalamet,” the Shazam! actor, 43, told Entertainment Tonight of his pick at the Los Angeles premiere of Harold and the Purple Crayon. “Unfortunately I feel like I’m a little old and I don’t know all of the younger actors that could be that guy.”

Zachary Levi as Flynn
Zachary Levi as Flynn: Chalamet is certainly no stranger to musicals. He recently headlined the 2023 musical Wonka, about chocolatier Willy Wonka from the Roald Dahl classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and is set to play a young Bob Dylan in the upcoming biopic A Complete Unknown.
Levi played Flynn Rider (real name Eugene Fitzherbert) in 2010’s Tangled, Disney’s animated musical retelling of the Rapunzel tale. Mandy Moore voiced Rapunzel, while Donna Murphy voiced the memorable and utterly evil Mother Gothel.
Disney has not officially confirmed a Tangled live-action per se, but fan theories abound. But Levi is all for the idea of a live-action — and even has a pitch for his and Moore’s return: “I think it would be fun if Mandy and I got to be Rapunzel’s parents,” Levi said. “I think that would be a really fun little cameo for us.”
Zachary Levi as Flynn: Speaking to Elite Daily earlier this month, Moore echoed Levi’s pitch to be Rapunzel’s mother in a potential live-action, also sharing that she would pick pop star Sabrina Carpenter as her successor. “I could see her with 50 feet of hair or something,” Moore said. “She looks like a Disney princess in real life.” She also proposed a “mother-daughter” duet with the “Espresso” hitmaker.
Perhaps Disney will see the light.
