Emma Stone’s Dresses in Poor Things: To promote the theatrical release of the movie Searchlight Pictures created this pop-up costume and prop exhibit at the ASU FIDM Museum in Downtown Los Angeles from December 1 to December 15, 2023.
The temporary movie exhibit on December 12, 2023, eclectic collection of costumes with their fabulous modern takes on late 19th century fashion, their massive sleeves a key component, designed by Holly Waddington and worn by Emma Stone on display.
Emma Stone’s Dresses in Poor Things: In the film after being brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist, ‘Dr. Godwin Baxter’ (Willem Dafoe), the young woman runs off with a foppish lawyer named ‘Duncan Wedderburn’ (Mark Ruffalo) on a whirlwind cruise adventure across the continents on a journey of self-discovery and sexual liberation.
The almost half-dressed outfit is worn by the childlike Bella as she ventures outside of the scientist’s home, whilst the other looks are on her travels with her debauched lawyer friend.
