Brooke Shields’ beautiful daughters: When it came time to pick a dress for her 2024 high school graduation, Brooke Shields’s daughter, Grier Henchy, 18, looked no further than Mom’s closet.

“Her graduation dress was my first wedding dress,” says Shields of the gown she wore to marry tennis ace Andre Agassi in 1997.

Brooke Shields’ beautiful daughters: “We had to re-bone it a little bit so it was tight and sleek,” adds Grier, 18, who just began her first year of college. (She joined her older sister, Rowan, 21 at Wake Forest University.)

“We took out all the poof because I didn’t want it poofy.” Adds Shields, “And we made it strapless.”

“She looked great in it,” says the 59-year-old star. “It’s such an honor when they want to wear your stuff. Normally they don’t think I’m cool.”

Brooke Shields’ beautiful daughters: In this week, Shields and her two daughters, Rowan and Grier, (their dad is Shields’s second husband Chris Henchy) share what home life is really like, including raiding their mom’s one of a kind closet.

Nothing is off limits says Shields, now an empty nester for the first time. “Honestly, they can wear anything because just to have it have another life– you save the stuff and wonder why,” she says. “It’s like, some big Sotheby’s auction? I highly doubt it. Unless they’re iconic items. So when they have another life, it feels good.”

The dress she wore to wed Agassi (whom she divorced in 1999) is a perfect example. “He’s a good guy so to me it was really like a big full circle moment,” she says, “and it honors something and I think that’s healthy.”

Brooke Shields’ beautiful daughters: It’s not the first time her daughters have worn one of her famous outfits. In 2021, Rowan chose to wear her mom’s scarlet red dress, designed by Richard Tyler, to her high school prom. (Brooke had originally worn it to the 1998 Golden Globes.)

As Rowan tells it, “I was downstairs in New York, going through a bunch of her old dresses, making a TikTok and tried this red dress on. I didn’t really want to go through the process of finding a prom dress. I was kinda like ‘If we have something here….’ and I found this red dress.”

“It fit me except in the boobs, and we got it tailored just a little bit. It was like this is perfect and I’ll just do a Hollywood wave,” she says laughing.

Brooke Shields’ beautiful daughters: Shields smiles at how it all worked out. “First of all, if it had been my idea, it never would have gone over. They would have been like, ‘That’s weird.’ So the fact she went downstairs and went through the archives and found it on her own, and it was such a special dress. It was made for me by Richard Tyler and I felt so glamorous in it – and I got read the riot act the next day by my agency.”

Brooke Shields’ beautiful daughters: “They said ‘You’re never going to be taken seriously as an actress if you wear a red dress,'” she recounts. “And I said, ‘I don’t really understand how that correlates’ and the next year everyone wore red to the Golden Globes and I took the spread [of the dress] threw it down on their desk and said ‘I’m ahead of my time.’”
