Ben Affleck is playfully teasing Matt Damon about being photographed shirtless while on set for The Odyssey.

During the premiere of his new film The Accountant 2 in Los Angeles on April 16, Affleck took the opportunity to rib his close friend and collaborator Damon, especially after Access presented him with photos of Damon filming Christopher Nolan’s latest project.

“You see, this is the face that says, ‘They just told him there were photographers out there, so he’s like, ‘I’m flexing my abs, are you watching? Take my picture!'” Affleck quipped.

Damon was photographed filming in Favignana, Italy, on March 25. Recent images also showed Damon performing backflips off a yacht into the Mediterranean on April 11, where he showcased his impressive action star physique.

In Nolan’s upcoming adaptation of the epic poem The Odyssey, Damon takes on the role of the Greek hero Odysseus. “I have to give him respect,” Affleck stated, referencing his own return to action as Christian Wolff in The Accountant 2. “As you get older, it becomes less easy to do this, and he’s making it happen.”

Matt Damon and Zendaya were seen on set in Favignana, Italy, shooting scenes for 'The Odyssey'.

“And I’m a little — yeah, I don’t like it. I feel like he’s upstaging me, but what are you gonna do?” Affleck joked about Damon’s transformation. “I gotta respect it. He does look pretty good, I’m kind of impressed.”

Over the years, both Affleck and Damon have taken on their share of action roles. Damon led the Bourne trilogy during the 2000s and returned to that role in 2016’s Jason Bourne, while Affleck starred in films like Armageddon early in his career and took on the role of Batman.

In a March cover interview with GQ, Affleck expressed interest in visiting the set of The Odyssey to observe Damon under Nolan’s direction.

“I feel that way about Chris Nolan,” Affleck remarked, adding that he considers Steven Spielberg “one of the great filmmaking architects to ever live.” He indicated, “I may go visit Matt on the set just to watch Nolan direct. I’m not even kidding at all.”

Affleck’s The Accountant 2 is set to hit theaters on April 25, while Damon’s The Odyssey is scheduled for release on July 17, 2026.
