Backstreet Boys and Radio City Rockettes Team Up for ‘Everybody’ Dance Duet amid N.Y.C. Christmas Tree Lighting — Watch

The Backstreet Boys are Rock-ette-ing their bodies right!

The boy band — which comprises Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, Kevin Richardson and Howie Dorough — teamed up with the Radio City Rockettes for a synchronized dance number set to the group’s 1997 hit “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).”

“OMG they’re back again!” read the caption on the Rockettes’ official Instagram account Friday, Dec. 5. “Backstreet’s back for the ultimate collab.”

In the clip, the musicians are mixed in with the famous New York City dancers, showing off their moves — and even a few high kicks — as they jam out to the pop classic.

The two groups first teased their collaboration Wednesday, Dec. 4, participating in the popular “Oops, wrong way” trend.

In the video, the Rockettes, clad in sparkly gold performance outfits, got together for a signature kick line alongside the message, “The Rockettes should really dance to a Backstreet Boys song,” before the camera flipped to show the boy band were the ones filming.

The collab was a part of the Christmas in Rockefeller Center special, which aired on NBC and Peacock Wednesday. The two acts helped build excitement ahead of the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.

And the Backstreet Boys aren’t the only celebrities collaborating with the Rockettes. Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles and violinist Lindsey Stirling have all made recent videos with the iconic performers.

The Rockettes originally formed in 1925 and have been holiday staples in the decades since, performing at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade each year and ringing in the season with the Radio City Christmas Spectacular each year.

Back in April 2023, more than 800 dancers auditioned for The Rockettes. There was also an extra special guest: 92-year-old Mary Silvestri of Connecticut, who finally got her chance to attend.

During her visit to Radio City Music Hall, Silvestri revealed that she tried to audition for the dance company decades prior, but was unable to find a way to the Big Apple.

After the auditions, she offered some wise words: “Just keep moving, keep going, and keep going to dancing school,” she said. “Do your routine and enjoy it. You have to enjoy what you’re doing.”
