Bachelorette Alum Katie Thurston Announces Engagement to Comedian Jeff Arcuri: ‘When You Know, You Know’
Katie Thurston is getting married!
On Sunday, Sept. 15, the 33-year-old Bachelorette alum announced on Instagram that she and fellow stand-up comedian Jeff Arcuri are engaged, with both sharing snaps from an engagement photoshoot on a beach.
“When you know, you know 🤍🖤,” Thurston, who competed on the 25th season of The Bachelor and was the star on the 17th season of The Bachelorette in 2021, captioned the post.
In the first photo of their Instagram carousel, Thurston could be seen throwing her hand in the air — with a shiny ring sitting on her finger — while Arcuri, 35, struck a pose behind her.
As Thurston wore a white skirt and lace top for the snaps, she and Arcuri posed on a beach, shared a few kisses and held each other close. The comedian also lifted his fiancée up in a few of the shots.
The final slide of their post showed the moment he popped the question. Arcuri could be seen in the proposal video reaching for his back pocket, kneeling down on one knee and pulling out a ring, while Thurston covered her face with her hands and nodded a “yes.”
Several fans and friends shared their excitement in the post’s comment section, including Bachelor Nation’s Jenn Tran, who wrote, “IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU ❤️❤️❤️❤️.”
Lexi Young, Daisy Kent, Andrew Spencer, Kaitlyn Bristowe, Jade Roper and Big Brother winner Xavier Prather also shared their support.
“Crying!!!!,” Young wrote. “You’re so deserving! I’m so happy for you!!!!”
Thurston and Arcuri went Instagram official in June, when Thurston shared two photos of them kissing — including one taken in a photo booth where she gave him a kiss on the cheek. “Safe to say he’s making it to hometowns next week ❤️,” she captioned the snaps.
Since then, the pair have documented Broadway outings, a trip to a Yankees game and their September getaway to Hawaii. In July, Thurston also detailed a moment three months prior where she thought Arcuri was “ghosting” her, only to find out he was “in the hospital” with an injured hand.
“Whoops 😅,” she wrote in a caption. “Here is a glimpse of this extraordinary human who is the kindest man I have ever met. He’s my love, my protector, my peace, my healer, and of course, my laughter. I never knew two souls could collide the way ours have. You were worth the wait. 💕”
The pair later appeared together on the Your Mom & Dad podcast in August. Per Us Weekly, the reality TV alum revealed she was “happily snatched up” while appearing on the same podcast in May, after teasing on Instagram in January that she was seeing someone new.
Arcuri, who has appeared several programs including Comedy Central’s Roast Battle and frequently shares his stand-up routines on Instagram, is on tour through the rest of the year with his next stop being in St. Louis on Sept. 20.
