Angelina Jolie and Son Pax Step Out Together as He Wears an Arm Cast One Month After His Accident
Angelina Jolie’s son Pax is sporting an arm cast as he continues to recover from his July accident.
The Maria actress, 49, was spotted out and about in Los Angeles with her 20-year-old son on Wednesday, Sept. 4, five weeks after he sustained injuries while riding an e-bike.
Jolie, who held a brown paper bag in one hand, wore a white shirt under a cream-colored cardigan, matching trousers, black sunglasses and brown boots.
Pax rocked a laid-back look, comprised of a white T-shirt under a black Nasir Mazhar vest, black pants, white sneakers and a black bucket hat with the world “MIRACLE” written across the front. He also had a purple cast on his right arm.
Pax was hospitalized after the accident, which happened in an area of Los Feliz Boulevard at around 5 p.m. on Monday, July 29.
A week later, a source told PEOPLE that Pax was “still recovering” after being released from an ICU ward in L.A. “He’s uncomfortable and will need further treatments. Still, he was very lucky,” the insider said at the time. “It could have been much worse since he didn’t wear a helmet.”
The source added that Jolie “was shocked and worried when she got the call about the accident,” noting that her other kids were “supporting Pax as best as they can.”
After he was released from the ICU, an insider told PEOPLE that Pax “suffered complex trauma, and now begins the long road of recovery and physical therapy.”
On Aug. 30, a source said Pax was “doing okay” and added, “It’s been a few weeks since the accident, but he’s still recovering and receiving treatments.”
As for Pax’s father, Brad Pitt, the actor had been “getting updates” about Pax’s recovery despite being estranged from his adult children, a source told PEOPLE earlier in August: “He hasn’t had any contact with Pax in years, but he still very much cares.”
Aside from Pax, exes Jolie and Pitt, 60, also share Maddox, 23, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
