Slater welcomed his second child, daughter Eliana, with Haddon in 2001. Like her big brother Jaden, she grew up in the public eye alongside the actor and was photographed at premieres and events as a kid.
In contrast to Jaden, the Heathers actor has shared various updates on Eliana as she’s gotten older. In June 2020, Slater spoke with PEOPLE about spending family time together in quarantine amid the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that Eliana was just “two days away from graduating high school.”
The proud dad said they were celebrating the milestone in part with a Zoom party and T-shirts he ordered that say, “Quarantine Graduate of 2020.” Slater went on to praise his daughter, who was the newly minted middle child at the time following the birth of his third child.
“[Eliana] has really blossomed as a very beautiful, intelligent, wonderful, very kind, lovely person,” he said of his daughter. “She’s great with the baby and just a really warmhearted, special person.”
“I’m proud of her and her being ready to take on life and have some of her own independent adventures now,” he added.

Slater married Brittany Lopez in 2013 and they welcomed their first child together, a daughter, in August 2019. They haven’t made their little one’s name public.
In June 2020, Slater told PEOPLE that he was enjoying all the sweet moments a newborn brings to the family once more, noting that “getting to see my daughter start crawling” was one of his favorite sights to witness.
At 9 months old, Slater described his baby girl as “a wonderful spirit” who was also beginning to stand, which he said was “very exciting to see.” He continued, “It’s really incredible. She’s smiling all the time… It really does brighten up your life. She’s a joy to be around.”
He added that some of his favorite activities with his daughter included “blow(ing) her kisses,” “toss(ing) her up in the air” and “tak(ing) her swimming,” as well as their morning ritual of feeding her and taking her for a “walk in a BABYBJÖRN.”
“She loves books,” Slater continued of his little one, sharing that one of her favorite stories at the time was Hug Machine by Scott Campbell.
Slater called his daughter “a real passionate, excitable person” when talking to PEOPLE in August 2024.
“I mean, she skateboards, she ice skates, she climbs rock walls, she does aerobics, she plays tennis and she’s 5. We can’t stop her,” he said. “She just has a real zest and passion for life that’s very infectious and makes me very excited.”

Slater and Lopez welcomed their second child, a baby boy, in July 2024.
Just a few months prior, the couple announced their pregnancy at the premiere of Slater’s movie Unfrosted, where Lopez showed off her growing baby bump in a floral off-the-shoulder gown.
In December 2024, Slater told Fox News Digital that despite the sleepless nights that come with parenting an infant, raising his baby boy is “also so gratifying.”
“He’s only five months, but somehow my wife only hears him calling ‘Daddy’ at 5:30 in the morning,” he said. “I’m like, ‘OK.’ But you get up, you go in there, you see him, and he’s just the best, and he’s just smiling and funny.”
