**Adam DeVine Accuses Zac Efron of Ghosting After Plea to Crash at His Place**

Adam DeVine shares that his “close friend” Zac Efron hasn’t been in touch for nearly half a year.
The 41-year-old star of Righteous Gemstones disclosed during an April 2 appearance on the In Depth with Graham Bensinger podcast that communication with his former Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates collaborator has lapsed.
DeVine remembered receiving an unexpected call from Efron approximately half a year prior after years of sparse contact. During their conversation, the 37-year-old Iron Claw actor reportedly stated, ‘‘Hey man, I just want you to know I’ve missed you,’’ prompting DeVine to reciprocate: ‘‘Same here, buddy. You’re someone I truly value.’’
The comedian revealed Efron then inquired, ‘‘Do you still own that beachside property?’’
‘‘I told him I did,’’ DeVine continued. ‘‘He asked, ‘Would it be alright if I stayed with you for a fortnight?’ I responded, ‘Absolutely, come through anytime.’ He promised, ‘I’ll confirm specifics tomorrow and arrive early next week.’’’
DeVine described informing his spouse Chloe Bridges: ‘‘Zac might be our houseguest for a while. Not entirely certain.’’ She reportedly agreed to the unconventional arrangement.
However, the anticipated visit never materialized. During the podcast interview, DeVine confessed Efron subsequently “cut off communication” without explanation.
‘‘I even followed up asking about his plans,’’ the actor noted. ‘‘Radio silence since then. Complete mystery, honestly.’’

The duo previously portrayed sibling characters in the 2016 comedy Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, supported by Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza. The movie dramatized the actual story of brothers Mike and Dave Stangle, whose boisterous reputation compelled their family to mandate they bring chaperones to a relative’s nuptials.
DeVine mentioned maintaining a group chat with Efron, Kendrick, and Plaza where they occasionally exchange anecdotes about fans referencing their collaborative project.
