Gwyneth Paltrow Opens Up About Heartbreak: A Challenging Year Marked by the Loss of Beloved Dogs Nero and Daffodil

Gwyneth Paltrow disclosed that she is experiencing a “challenging” moment due to the passing of her two family canines, Nero and Daffodil.
The 52-year-old Academy Award recipient expressed during her Tuesday, March 25, Instagram Stories “Ask Me Anything” that two of her cherished pets have recently passed away.
The Instagram Stories commenced with a user inquiring, “Have you ever lost a dog and how did you cope with the grief?”
“I’m saddened that you feel the need to pose this question,” Paltrow started. “I’ve recently lost two dogs, one just last week, our small Maltese, Daffodil, who we have loved for approximately 15 years,” she disclosed.
As she elaborated, Paltrow revealed that her family also lost their “large Shepherd” Nero in November. “So it has been a difficult year concerning our dogs,” she mentioned.
“We have one remaining who is very protective,” she said pertaining to their dog, Gaucho.
Paltrow provided her insight on dealing with the grief of losing a pet. “It’s similar to any other loss. You must honor them, cherish them, and keep their memory alive in your thoughts,” she mentioned, adding, “Give extra love to the dog you currently have; that’s what I am doing.”
Over the years, Paltrow has posted a number of pictures of her three dogs. For National Dog Day in 2021, she shared individual images of Gaucho, Nero, and Daffodil.
She included a heartfelt picture of Nero relaxing alone on the sofa, along with two selfies featuring Gaucho and Daffodil.
“Happy #nationaldogday from Gaucho, Nero, Daffodil, and myself 🐩🐕🦺🐩🤓,” she captioned the Instagram post dated Aug. 26, 2021.
Just a year earlier, she posted a delightful image of the three dogs lined up, with Gaucho at the front, Daffodil in the center, and Nero standing proudly in the background.
“🤍🤍🖤,” the Shakespeare in Love actress captioned the photo from Oct. 6, 2020.
Paltrow is not alone in posting images of the pups on social media; her husband Brad Falchuk has shared several pictures of their dogs on his Instagram account. In April 2017, he shared a photo of Paltrow and Daffodil relaxing outdoors together.
