Travis Kelce Reveals He’s a Secret Fan of Love Actually: ‘It’s a Fun One to Watch’
Travis Kelce doesn’t need any cue cards to fall for Love Actually!
The Kansas City Chiefs star, 35, revealed on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast with brother Jason Kelce that he had taken a liking to the film — which is also a favorite of his sister-in-law Kylie Kelce.
“I actually enjoyed Love Actually,” the tight end shared, though he added that he “didn’t feel ‘Christmas’ at all during the movie.”
Jason echoed his sentiments, saying, “I enjoyed the movie. It was okay,” but noted “there was zero Christmas spirit or anything resembling that.”
“Love Actually might be the worst Christmas movie I’ve ever seen,” Jason continued. “I don’t even know that it’s up for debate.”
The brothers then discussed their favorite plot points from the film alongside Kylie, which included the storyline between Liam Neeson and Thomas Brodie-Sangster’s characters Daniel and Sam. Jason shared that he thought that was a “great storyline,” while Travis said he particularly liked the iconic cue card scene between Andrew Lincoln’s Mark and Kiera Knightley’s Juliet.
“The cards? Yeah. That was like that’s like the iconic way to do that’s like the most romantic way to tell someone you’re in love with them,” Travis said.
“What’s crazy is that all these, like you said, all these stories tie together in one community, and it’s supposed to make it look like this is what happens in a community,” he continued. “Like, these are all the different love stories, this is what’s going on around you.”
He went on to explain that while he thought some of the stories seemed a “little far-fetched,” he thought the overall story was good and had “good values” to pass on to viewers.
“It’s a fun one to watch,” he admitted. “I was enjoying following along to all the stories.”
Another highlight for the NFL player was the “directing.” He shared, “I thought the directing was up there… a lot of the shots were fun… I thought the shots on the, especially on the water, when all the papers and everything flew around. I thought that was sweet.”
Ultimately, Travis rated the movie a three out of ten, noting that while it “had nothing to do with Christmas,” the acting deserved a “solid nine.”
Jason, meanwhile, gave the movie a four and Kylie gave it anywhere between a four and six.
Travis previously revealed that A Christmas Story is his favorite holiday movie, especially since it was filmed in the same areas where he grew up in Cleveland.
“Tower City as a kid, I remember going down that slide, I remember going into the mall area,” he shared. “On top of that, just like the scene of the outside reminds me of a Cleveland Christmas, snowy Christmas. I just get the feels from that one.”
As for Jason, he noted that his favorites included Four Christmases, The Grinch and A Christmas Vacation.
