Joe Jonas Flashes His Unusual Upper-Thigh Tattoos, Including His Ink of SpongeBob SquarePants, in Cheeky Video
Joe Jonas is a sucker for funky tattoos.
The “Cake by the Ocean” singer, 35, is a fan of getting decked out in cool body art, and in a new Instagram video shared on Dec.19, he gave fans a cheeky glimpse at the unusual ink located on his upper thigh.
In the Thursday clip captioned with the question “You got tats right?”, the musician lifted up his bathrobe and briefs to show his leg tattoos, which he actually got in June 2018.
Tattoo artist Lauren Winzer shared close-up photos of her work on Jonas when he originally got the tats six years ago. In the clip, Jonas specifically showed off the ink he has of a singing SpongeBob SquarePants, Chuckie Finster from Rugrats and Mojo Jojo from The Powerpuff Girls. However, he also got illustrations of cartoons Mario, Dexter and Max Goof on different sessions that were days apart. The Freddie Mercury outline, featured on his forearm, was also done at the same time.
While Jonas’ collection of leg tattoos are usually covered up when he’s on the red carpet, they were featured in the Jonas Brothers’ music video for “Suckers” released in March 2019.
The upper half of the star’s body is also covered in designs. On his forearm, he has the trio of faces representing the proverb, “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil,” from 2020.
Per a video of Jonas shared to Instagram this August, he still has the 2018 tattoo of a woman inside a picture frame that fans thought was dedicated to his now ex-wife Sophie Turner.
Jonas filed for divorce from the Game of Thrones star, with whom he shares two daughters, in September 2023 after four years of marriage. This past fall, one year after Jonas’ filing, they reached a settlement agreement. Though the details remained confidential, court documents obtained by PEOPLE stated that the agreement was made “in the best interests of the parties and this family.”
It doesn’t seem like Jonas has gotten any new tats as of late, but he has been experimenting with his appearance in other ways.
Although many know the former Disney Channel star for his signature scruff, he’s been embracing the mustache as of late.
On Dec. 2, he attended the Fashion Awards in London with his groomed stash on full display. His facial hair appropriately matched the sophisticated menswear look he wore to the star-studded event.
