Christina Aguilera Joins Sabrina Carpenter for Surprise Performances of ‘What a Girl Wants’ and ‘Ain’t No Other Man’
Christina Aguilera and Sabrina Carpenter are one dynamic duo!
The five-time Grammy-award winner, 43, made a surprise appearance at Carpenter’s Los Angeles concert at the Crypto.com Arena on Friday, Nov. 15 to duet a couple of her hit songs — a few months after the pair sang together for the 25th anniversary celebration of Aguilera’s debut album.
Several videos shared on social media show Aguilera hitting the stage in a black corset and short shorts with sparkly knee-high boots to first perform “Ain’t No Other Man.”
As she begins singing, Carpenter can be seen watching from the head of the stage, before joining Aguilera in a duet of the song.
The pair also sang a slower rendition of “What a Girl Wants” on stage together, videos shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) show.
For that performance, the pair sat side by side on stage as they harmonized together.
Aguilera and Carpenter could be seen sharing a big hug after the performance, with the “Fighter” singer telling the “Espresso” musician, “I love you so much.”
The “What a Girl Wants” performance from Aguilera and Carpenter was similar to the one they did together for Aguilera’s celebration of her debut album with Spotify back in September.
At the time, a proud Aguilera could be seen watching on as Carpenter opened the song, before she took over for the second verse.
Carpenter reflected on The Voice alum’s impact on her growing up and how Aguilera’s career has inspired hers during the joint appearance.
“I think the first time I ever heard your voice was [when] my mom played me a video of you singing at eight years old, ‘A Sunday Kind of Love’, ” Carpenter told Aguilera, referring to the star’s 1990 appearance on Star Search, where she wowed the audience with a passionate rendition of one of Etta James’ fan-favorite songs when she was about 10 years old.
“That was the most inspiring thing for me ever to see as a young girl that wanted to sing, but just didn’t think I could do it at that age,” she added.
